I was enraged and about to beat the shit out of Klyde when Elizabeth stopped us both. I turned to glare at her but I noticed my mother standing there with three little children and they got so frightened that they hid behind her.

Shit! They were Klyde and Viola’s kids. Klyde surprisingly had brain cells at that moment to let go of me and we both sat down and acted cool. Though I was boiling with anger, rage, pain and mostly Heartache. Especially when I saw the children, the boys were the spitting image of Klyde, same black hair and blue eyes and the girl looked so much like Viola.

As much as I wanted to show them love and be a good uncle, I couldn’t control the way I was hurting when I saw them. They were living proof of Viola’s betrayal – and it wasn’t their fault but it didn’t make me feel good at all.

” Everyone! This is Derrick- he’s the oldest, then we have Damien – the second child and this is Danielle but she prefers Dani and she hates being called the baby of them all” my mother said and we all looked at the children. Elizabeth was whipped for them already, Klyde seemed dazed that he really did have children for whom he would have to feign good behavior and Viola seemed to be battling with tears.

” Nice to meet you,” they all said in unison and I let out a deep breath.

My mom was introducing them one by one to the family and when it got to my turn they got confused for obvious reasons.

” This is your father’s twin brother – Kade.” My mom had said and I smiled at them but they didn’t seem fooled they just nodded and stared at me suspiciously. I was already ruining the whole uncle thing.

” This is your father Klyde Harold” she said and Klyde also smiled at them before he said, ” how’re you?” And only the girl said she was fine.

” This is your Aunt Elizabeth, she is expecting a baby can you believe that!”

” Is it a boy or a girl?” One of the boys asked, I think he was Derrick.

” It’s a boy” Elizabeth said, surprising everyone else since I was the only one she told about the baby’s gender. I bet father and mother were inwardly happy for her that she was having a boy, they probably wouldn’t even care if her life was a stake for this pregnancy.

” Congratulations dear,” mother said and Elizabeth feigned a wide smile at her.

” This is your mother, Viola Walden. Though she left you in the orphanage because she didn’t have resources to take care of you, she will be able to play her role now as your mother from now on so show her lots of love.” Mother said to the children but they didn’t even look at Viola. Before Viola even got the chance to say hello to them, Dani looked away and asked, ” and who’s that old man?” Causing a little laughter, the first laughter from the family!

” That Dani, is your grandfather who loves you all so very much.” She said and Dani smiled at him, she was just so beautiful – quite like her mother.

” Hi Grandpa!” She said and he laughed heartily, bet he couldn’t wait to exploit the child when she get old enough. He’ll dictate the hell out of her life and that’s when all that innocent admiration she has for him will disappear.

” Come here little rose!” He said as he beamed a bright smile at her while u scoffed. The little girl ran to meet him while the two boys just stood there beside my mother. One of them kept looking at me and I got uncomfortable.

” I have to use the restroom, I’ll be back.” I said and left the dining room but I knew and the rest of them knew that I wouldn’t be back. The children were cute and loveable but they just brought me pain and didn’t want to see them for as long as even one minute.

Viola

I couldn’t breathe, my children refused to acknowledge me and one of them was sitting happily with her grandfather as they talked. Emelia was having a blast with Derrick and Damien who had never had ” such nice breakfast before”. Thinking of the horrible food they’d been eating was one of the reasons I donated money anonymously to the orphanage yet they never ate good food? 

I was trying not to cry, I really wanted to be strong but each time I looked at them, I lost it. Elizabeth would try to pacify me once in a while by tapping my thighs gently and urging me to eat but I was so sore in my heart.

I should’ve prepared myself for this instead I was busy wondering what Rick and my traitor best friend was doing or how to escape this marriage with Klyde.

” So Duke, when is the wedding going to be?” Emelia asked and Duke grunted.

” Is someone getting married? Is it you Aunt Elizabeth?” Damien asked, he was starting to be as talkative as his sister. Gosh he was so beautiful, I loved the way his hair was allowed to grow into a mullet but I’m afraid he didn’t even care to look my way. I honestly wondered what Emelia told them about me.

” No silly, I’m already married and I have three children already, this one will be my fourth.” Elizabeth answered and Derrick’s eyes widened.

” We have cousins? I’d like to meet them!” He said excitedly and Elizabeth laughed.NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

” You can only see them if you come to Vercixe.” She said.

” Why is that?” Dani asked and Elizabeth sighed.

” I’m married to a Duke and that makes me a duchess, my children are princesses and they’re not allowed to travel yet.”

” They’re girls?! ” Dani asked, her eyes almost popping out and everyone laughed – everyone except me of course.

” Yes” Elizabeth answered with a smile.

” I’d do anything to meet them! Please Grandpa I want to see them.” She pleaded.

” Well… I don’t know, is that something Grandpa can do?”he teased and when she pouted he laughed and said,”  I’ll make sure that happens little rose” and she giggled and ate some bread.

” You and Grandma are the best! I don’t need anyone else,” She said and this time I couldn’t hold back my tears. I got up abruptly and ran out of the dining room as I cried my heart out.

This was it, this was definitely it! Nobody loves me – not even my own children! I was so fed up with all the pain I was feeling and I just couldn’t take it anymore.

I opened the first door by my right not caring that it was probably Mr Harold’s temporary office. I just needed somewhere to sit and let out the pain I was feeling.

” What are you doing here?” I heard someone say and I turned around and sighed when I saw that It was Kade.

” What do you think Einstein?” I said, not caring about how he would respond to my nasty tone.

” Don’t tell me you cried because your kids didn’t say hi to you?” He said and I flipped at him.

” Oh so you want to gloat huh? I’m sure you’re so happy that I’m getting so much hate! It’s what you’ve always wanted to happen to me isn’t it? By all means enjoy and watch the show Kade! Enjoy the show!”

He stood there looking surprised at my reaction. I shut my eyes and the tears just came pouring down my cheeks as I fell to my knees and cried my heart out.

” This is really pathetic,” he said and I heard the him slam the door shut as he left but I didn’t care.

” What else do you want me to do? I’m sorry I cheated on you, I’m so sorry. Everyday of my life I’ve been sorry and I swear that after Klyde showed me his true colors I made an oath to myself to stick with you and to love you because you deserved to be loved. But before I got the chance Gina destroyed everything, and then I got pregnant and sent away to the US!

I didn’t even get to hold my babies after I gave birth, I didn’t! They were crying, all three of them but Emelia took them from me, now they come back and they don’t even like me? Ugh!! I’m tired of this!

I just want to go back home… I just -”

” – Want to go back to a man that’s cheating on you?” Kade said and I froze. I thought he’d left, and how the hell did he know that Rick was cheating on me?!

” How do you know that?” I asked and he sighed and crouched so he could look me in the eye as he spoke.

” I was drunk, not dead asleep. Plus you accidentally recorded the conversation.” He said.

It was so odd that he actually sounded sympathetic. Maybe he wasn’t so happy to see me in pain.

” Look, there’s nothing for you to go back to. Rick’s a cheat and if you stepped one foot back to the States I doubt you’ll live through the hate you’d receive from those delusional female fans of ours.” He said to me.

” You just have to be strong, until then get out of my office. I’ve got work.” He said and I rolled my eyes.

” Wow, that was SO encouraging.” I deadpanned but he just smirked and shrugged.

I left his office and tried to find my room. I found it soon enough and the only thing I did when I got there was lay down on the bed and reflect on whether my life was worth living anymore.

I closed my eyes to sleep but someone knocked on my door. I grumbled before I opened the door, it was Kade. He just walked in and sat on the bed.

” What? I thought we were roomies?” He said and I glared at him before I sat on the couch and wrapped my arms around my knees.

” Excuse me Kade, miss Walden.” Said a man I recognize as Kade’s bodyguards.

” Pedro, what is it?” Kade asked as he scrolled through his phone.

” Your father has cancelled the trip to Hawaii and everyone is to return back to London.” He said but something seemed suspicious, and why did he address him as Kade? Are they friends?

” Don’t you think I already knew he’d do that? Tell me what really brought you here.” Kade asked, this time he put his phone  aside and stared at Pedro intently.

” Well… The thing is, he’s already left with everyone else but both of you.” Pedro said and I gasped. Where am I ever gonna get money to travel back to London, Kade would never pay for my flight.

” Do you want to go back to London or to the US?” Kade asked and I stared at him blankly.

” Don’t you have unfinished business with your fiance?” He asked again and got up from the bed, geez he was huge and the sweater he wore was just too fitting that it highlighted his muscles so well that I wouldn’t even need to imagine what his body looked like.

” Viola?”

” Hmmm- ummm no, I don’t want to go back there. You said it yourself, there’s nothing for me to go back to.” I said and he nodded.

” I’ll book a flight for you, I have to be at a press conference to officially announce my departure from that shithole company.” He said and walked away with Pedro following him closely.

I sighed as I watched him walk away, why was he being low-key nice by the way? Maybe he pitied me.

I lay down on the bed and slept for a while before the sound of the telephone ringing woke me up.

” Hello?”

” Hello, there’s a package for you from Mr Kade Harold but we need you to open the door so the delivery man can come in ma’am, ” said a man over the phone.

” I’m so sorry, I’ll let him in now.” I said and wondered how long he had been waiting for me outside or how long they called me.

I opened the door and the teen boy just frowned at me as he gave me the package in a white paper bag and I smiled at him and said, ” I’m sorry.”

The boy seemed so surprised and then he smiled a little, ” it’s okay” he said before he left. I shut the door and quickly looked inside the bag and what I found inside surprised me, especially the note that came with it.

” What is wrong with Kade? He is giving me gifts now?”
