Not Again Mr Whitney

Chapter 10 Let’s Get a Divorce

Chapter 10 Let’s Get a Divorce

The servants were all peeping at this scene in front of the gate.

“We’re all human beings. Who can take that kind of insult? I bet he will definitely leave the Houston

family. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

”I don’t think so. He has been insulted all these years and he must have gotten used to this. Also, who

would wanna leave a hot girl like Miss Houston? If I were him, I wouldn’t leave even if they beat me up

every day.”

Seeing that Carrie was tossing his stuff everywhere, Calvin didn’t get mad. Even he didn’t know why he

was so peaceful right now.

After she finished cursing and was gasping heavily, he looked up at her calmly.

“Mom, what are you so outrageous about? It’s bad for your health.”

Rita patted on Carrie’s back and was surprised that he asked her this question when he clearly knew

the answer.

Carrie was overwhelmed by her wrath again and she stared at Calvin, “Are you playing dumb with me?

Everything happened tonight was caused by you and you have the guts to ask me that question? How

can you be so shameless?”

Calvin was still calm and peaceful, “Tonight? What did I do? I didn’t talk back or hit back.”

“Vincent humiliated me and I didn’t say anything.”

“The aunts humiliated me, and I let that slide.”

“And you, you slapped me in the face and I didn’t say anything either.”

“So please tell me, what else should I do?”

Carried was shocked by his words. Was he still the coward he used to be? He didn’t yell but his voice

was firm and determined.

No way. This must be an illusion caused by her anger.

“You are wrong. Today’s my mom’s big day and you ruined it. Do you know how much did we spend on

this party? You douche. From the second you came to this family, you never made a penny and kept

making troubles for us. Why would we keep you here?”

“These two years, I paid for everything you’ve ever used or eaten and you ungrateful bastard kept good

stuff like that to yourself. I won’t mind if you don’t give that to me. But what about Rita? She’s your wife

and you didn’t even think about sharing with her? Rita, you have to divorce him.”

Rita didn’t feel okay about this either but she was calmer than Carrie.

“Mom, it’s too late. Just put this aside for tomorrow. You’ve been busy all day.”

Carrie threw off her hands and said, “No, if I don’t get this straight today, how could I fall asleep

tonight? It’s one million dollars! And he drank it all!”

Every time she thought about the phrase “extend life and maintain beauty”, Carrie would feel extremely

painful and regretful and she would hate Calvin even more.

Calvin snorted, “You were the ones who said it was a rotten walnut from a trashcan and no one had

ever believed in me the whole time.”

“You...” Carrie stuttered. He was telling the truth. She thought it was indeed a rotten walnut even now.

“Stop talking back to me! Let me ask you one more time, why did you say Vincent’s jade amulet is

deadly? Do you know how mad my mother was? If anything happened to her, you’ll never make it up

for her even if you die.”

Calvin didn’t respond and just sneered at her.

Rita frowned and didn’t know why he could smile at this point.

Something was terribly wrong with Calvin today.

She couldn’t tell which part was wrong but Calvin was like a whole new person today.

“Why are you laughing? How dare you? Do you have any consciousness?”

Calvin finally spoke, “What is consciousness?”

“Yes, I’ve never made any money. But I have been doing all the chores around the house since day

one.”

“For two years, for more than seven hundred days, I have been a servant to you and father since my

wedding night. I never stopped attending your needs for a single day. And you think I don’t have any

consciousness?”

“And what did you do to me? You swore at me and hit me any time you want. I eat leftovers and live in

a utility room where the sun never shines. And you think I don’t have any consciousness?”

“Even a servant needs to be paid. And you said I have never made any money?”

His words were firm and passionate. Even the servants nodded and agreed with him.

Rita bit her lips and started to think back. He really had been having a rough time in these two years.

But Carrie didn’t buy it, “What, you feel sorry for yourself? Then just leave. Who are you to complain?

You think I don’t know how much money your sick mother has been costing us? Rita, how much money

did you give him this time?

Rita whispered, “Mom, stop it.”

“Are you taking his side now? Just because he’s your so-called husband? You think I wouldn’t know if

you don’t tell me?”

Carrie turned to Calvin and continued yelling, “What more do you have to say? I made you a servant?

Then make some money for once, for God’s sake.”

“You think all of us like Vincent more than you? Yes, you’re right. Because he deserves it. Do you know

how much money he makes each year? Hundreds of thousands of dollars! He benefits the whole

family. I’m not gonna lie to you, I’m going to let Rita start working in his company. We’ve talked about

the salary, starting from two thousand dollars a month. Can you do that for us?”

Rita was astonished, “Mom, you didn’t tell me that.”

“You don’t need to know. Just go to the office the day after tomorrow. Rita, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t let

him drag you down. Now, I won’t let him do that to you anymore.”

Calvin couldn’t maintain calm anymore. Anyone could tell that Vincent had been having an eye on Rita

for a long time.

If she really started working for him, Vincent would definitely do something terrible to her.

He looked at Rita, hoping she could turn that down immediately.

“Mom, stop yelling.”

“Fine, then promise me, get a divorce with this loser and then start working for Vincent. If you promise

me you would do what I say, I’ll stop.”

Rita was in a dilemma. She subconsciously gave Calvin a look and he didn’t respond at all.

Rita was disappointed by his reaction and thought to herself, “What a useless man! You don’t know

what Vincent wants to do to me?”

“Aren’t you supposed to be mad now?”

“Okay, I promise. Calvin, apologize to my mother and clean up this mess.”

She didn’t notice the desperateness in Calvin’s eyes.

“No need. I don’t want any of these things anymore. And from now on, I’m no more the servant of the

Houston family.”

Rita and Carrie were both stunned. Rita frowned and said, “Calvin, I finally calm her down. Can you

stop making a scene?”

Calvin said coldly, “So you also think I was making a scene? Okay, then I’m gonna make a bigger one.”

He looked at her in her eyes and his eyes were no longer filled with affection.

Rita suddenly had some hard feelings. What was he going to do?

“Rita, let’s get a divorce.”

“What?”

“What did you say?”

Carrie was so outrageous, as if Calvin said something unforgivable.

And she was the one who wanted them to get divorced.

“How are you say that!”
