No Strings Attached

Chapter 203

Chapter 203

Two gleaming race cars vanished like lightning before Clara's eyes. As she watched the competition from the stands, her phone buzzed with an incoming call from Sasha.

Barely had she tapped the screen to answer when Sasha's shriek pierced the air. "Clara, the groomsman you're paired with at the wedding tomorrow is a total knockout—like, picture a guy who's all refined and repressed with glasses, but a total wild card once they're off. I swear, this dude is all that, absolutely magnetic. Girl, it looks like spring has sprung for you again."

Clara couldn't help but chuckle. "It's just going through the motions, you getting this pumped?" All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Of course I am. I'm all torn up over your happiness. Just you wait, I'm sending you his pic and bio. You're gonna scream. Meet you in the morning to head over together, okay?"

After hanging up with Sasha, Clara's phone was swamped with notifications. Her messeges was flooded with pictures of handsome men.

When she tapped open the photo, the man's face seemed oddly familiar. Those dark eyes seemed to hook her soul, sending a shiver through her.

Lost in her phone screen, she didn't notice Ian's husky voice from behind. "Into that type, huh? A gentleman in public, a wild creature in private?"

Clara quickly pocketed her phone and looked up to find herself lost in Ian's profound gaze. Only then did she realize why the man in the photo felt so familiar—it was the resemblance to Ian's eyes and nose, despite their starkly different auras.

She swiftly composed herself, replying coolly, "That's none of your business."

Ian leaned in close, his chiseled face hovering just above her. Their proximity was so close, their breaths mingled.

His eyes held a lingering affection, his voice tender, "If that's what you like, I can be that for you."

His cool fingertips brushed against the corner of Clara's eye, "Clara, don't look at other men, it drives me insane."

Clara was unmoved by his heartfelt confession, offering instead a casual smile, "Even if you turned into that, I wouldn't be into you."

She pushed past Ian and walked towards Ryker. Her voice softened from its previous coldness, "Ryker, did you win?"

Ryker, brimming with confidence, thumped his chest, "Crushed him with superior skills."

Clara saw a new light in Ryker’s eyes, the glow of self-belief, a far cry from his former despondency. She gave him a thumbs-up, "Impressive! How about you consider working here? I'll throw in some gear for you, what do you say?"

The adrenaline still coursing through Ryker's veins spiked at Clara's words, and he was tempted. His fists tightened as he said firmly, "If I get stronger than him, would you give me a chance?"

Before Clara could respond, Ian interjected, "Get stronger first, then we'll talk. You run the operations of the club, and we'll split the profits fifty-fifty. I've had it appraised for investment, and we're looking at tens of millions in net profit a year. Once you've got the capital, then you can compete with me for the lady."
