Chapter 2105
Chapter 2105
Cindy made no reply, but the girl licked her lips before adding, "I heard that Ian's mom has landed a role in that show, and she's singing a song on the soundtrack too. The guy probably figured out how much she was making and wanted a share too. I don't know, there's something about his story that just sounds fishy."
A smile tugged on Cindy's lips as she looked down at the documents in her hand. "How did you pick up on all these?"
The girl was an incorrigible gossip, and she was more than willing to share her insights with Cindy. "If you must know, I'm very invested in entertainment news; I love picking apart all these things that happen to celebrities. Besides, it's just a theory, and I would like to know if I'm right or wrong about it."
At this point, Cindy was on the verge of applauding her. She wanted desperately to affirm the girl's theory and tell her that she was right.
However, she couldn't do so because she wasn't supposed to talk about Ian while she was outside.
Those who were outside the entertainment circle could not possibly understand what they were dealing with. They might not be able to keep secrets, and if Cindy were to affirm the girl's theory, there was no telling how the word might spread. The narrative might even be twisted toward the end.
This could turn into an allegation against Cindy, who would have all the interest to defend Ian, and others would perceive it as a form of excuse made hastily on his behalf.
With such risks at play, Cindy was better off keeping her mouth shut about these things.
The girl was still going on about this as she added, "I don't think the man's going to back off that easily, though. Ian is the biggest fish he's caught so far, and he sure as hell won't let him off the hook!"
Cindy laughed as she was amused by the analogy, but she had to agree with the girl in secret. Ian was indeed gaining popularity in the industry, and the man could end up with an impressive sum of money if he had good leverage from the beginning.
At the thought of this, Cindy sighed and said, "Well, you're probably right, but I don't know how these things usually work out anyway. I'll just leave them up to his agency."
The girl quirked her lips and said wistfully, "I guess celebrities have it hard, too, huh? Imagine all the problems they have to put up with." Then, she added with good cheer, "However, I'd take my chances if I ever get to be a celebrity. At the very least, the money I make will be worth all the trouble I have to put up with."
This made Cindy laugh. "That's true."
Although celebrities had it rough, the money that came with the job was several times more than the average person's salary. The payout from a movie alone was money that some people might never get to see even if they worked their entire lives. It was no wonder many people dreamed of taking on the entertainment industry despite its challenges.
Presently, the girl's eagerness waned after she saw that Cindy had decidedly kept mum on the matter. She rolled back to her seat, and it wasn't until she had gone out of sight that Cindy set her documents down and let out a sigh.
If the girl could tell that Aurora's ex-boyfriend was only stirring up trouble for the sake of money,
perhaps the netizens could be just as perceptive. That way, the whole incident might be resolved quicker than they expected, not to mention the work involved wouldn't be quite so tedious either.
After a while, Cindy noticed her peers standing up from their seats and heading into Serena's office to presumably pick out their design projects for the performance review.
She waited until almost everyone had gone and returned before she rose from her seat to do the same. When she walked into the office, Serena handed her a cardboard box in which were paper scraps; they were drawing lots for the project they would attempt for the review.
Whichever design theme that Cindy ended up picking would be the one she had to work on.
She reached her hand in and drew a piece of paper out, but Serena did not ask her what the theme was. She merely nodded and said, "All the best."
Later on, Cindy wasn't sure if it was by sheer luck that she had drawn the scrap on which was inscribed a familiar theme. She had designed something based on the same theme before, and Serena had given her pointers as well.
She tore the scrap into pieces and threw them into the trash can in the restroom before returning to her desk.
Everyone else had already begun brainstorming ideas. They each had four days to submit a design sketch based on the theme they had picked out from the lot, and they were all trying to be the cream of the crop. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
However, Cindy was not nervous at all. Upon returning to her desk, she continued to browse through
her documents, knowing that brainstorming for design ideas was futile without inspiration. After all, it would not come to her now that she was still thinking about the incident from yesterday.
If that were the case, she might as well do some research before hunkering down and sketching.
