Chapter 2093
Chapter 2093
However, the man didn't seem keen on continuing the conversation as he turned back to the board and stared at the pictures of the artists on it. After a pause, he mused thoughtfully, "Ian's a pretty lucky guy." With that, he spun on his heels and walked away.
Cindy blinked in bewilderment, not knowing what he meant by that. She had only been Ian's assistant, and she wasn't even a particularly dedicated one. She wasn't sure how Ian could be deemed lucky now that she was no longer working for him and had instead moved on to a new career.
More to the point, if she were to assess every detail of her relationship with Ian, she would think of herself as being the lucky one out of the both of them. After all, she got to enjoy the perks that came with dating a celebrity.
Since she was unable to figure out what the man earlier had implied, Cindy did not dwell on this anymore and turned to head toward the conference room so she could wait outside for Ian.
She had only just drawn close to the conference room when the door opened, and Hannah and Ian came out at the same time.
Cindy paused for a second before she hurried up to them. When Ian caught sight of her, he reached for her hand instinctively.
She mirrored his gesture, and their fingers intertwined as they both stood in front of Hannah.
Hannah lowered her gaze and took in their clasped hands. She then chuckled and said, "It's good to see that the both of you are still going strong. After all, you've come such a long way."
They had indeed come a long way, though fans on the internet had divided opinions on this. In fact, some of them claimed that Cindy and Ian's personalities clashed and that it would be best to end the relationship.
Cindy thought about how they used to bicker all the time and found herself sputtering. "I didn't think I'd end up with him as well. It makes for quite a story, doesn't it?"
Even while working in the entertainment industry, she had never thought about dating or marrying a celebrity. The industry was rife with temptation, and she didn't trust herself or the other person. She had planned on earning quick and easy money so that she could do whatever she wanted when she had sufficient funds for indulgence, then when the time came, she would find someone whom she could spend forever with.
Alas, who could have thought working for Ian would disrupt her plans for an average life so epically?
Hannah did not add anything else to the conversation and merely nodded at Ian as she said, "Well, that concludes our meeting today. Give me a call if anything happens."
Ian muttered an answer in agreement as he pulled Cindy close to him with one arm. "We'll get going now."
After they had taken a couple of steps, Cindy suddenly tugged on his arm and said, "Wait, there's somewhere I need to bring you." With that, she led him to the lounge and added exasperatedly as she walked, "One of your little fangirls decided to pop out of nowhere again."
He did not ask any questions and followed her quietly to the lounge. Meanwhile, the girl from earlier
was still waiting.
When she heard the door open, she looked over and immediately straightened up as she greeted, "Ian."
Ian recognized her, and he was a little surprised as he answered, "Oh, you're here as well?"
Cindy was somewhat astonished. "You two know each other?"
He nodded. "We met on a show once."
The girl giggled bashfully and said, "I saw your girlfriend earlier, but I almost didn't believe it. Miss Jones mentioned that you've been busy recently, and I thought it might take a while before I would see you in person."
He had one hand in his pocket and the other holding Cindy's as he explained nonchalantly, "I just dropped by because I was free."
The girl didn't actually have much to say to him, and she only wanted to tell him that she had followed in his footsteps and signed with the agency. She also mentioned that they should keep in touch.
The pleasantries took less than five minutes, and after that, Ian led Cindy out of the lounge. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
It was only when they had gone into the hallway did Cindy tease, "I didn't think you would know her. I thought she was one of your fangirls and that she wanted an autograph and a picture together."
Ian replied, "We met once when we were both contestants on a talent show, but she was disqualified
during the preliminary round. It wasn't because she had no talent, though—she couldn't pull it off to the best of her abilities on account of a physical illness or something."
