Chapter 37 Are You being Jealous?
“Are you there?” after wondering for seconds, he walked over to the door of the bathroom and asked with soft voice.
“Yeah, wait a minute.” Then a series of footsteps sounded. With a blushed face, Jessica slightly opened the door and peeped through the gap.
She was then stunned when seeing him holding such a huge bag stuffed with menstrual necessities.
“Thank you. Just pass it through the gap.” She murmured, showing no intention to open the door wider.
“I got you some new clothes from a store nearby as soon as possible. But I just made a random pick. You can put it on for make-do after shower.” While speaking, he passed the bag through the gap.
“Just…let it go…” she took the bag but Lorenzo still clenched it while he was trying to hook his finger to hers.
“What are you doing?” she replied with a bashful glare.
He didn’t seem annoyed. Instead, he couldn’t help snickering. As he suddenly let go of the bag, it flopped onto her palm.
She took a look at her own finger, on the surface of which she could still feel the breath and temperature from Lorenzo, which even stimulated her heartbeat.
…
Lorenzo then sat on the couch with his straight and strong legs crossed while tasting the glass of vintage he was holding.
In a burgundy silk-made night dress, Jessica walked out of the bathroom. Her beauty was perfect enough to fit whatever style she was trying on.
The dress shared the same texture and color with the shirt of Lorenzo. That was why it caught his eyes as soon as he walked into the store.
“Why are you still drinking in the middle of the night?” confused, she asked as she rarely saw him drinking during such late hours.
Lorenzo then drained the vintage but only responded with silence.
“You shouldn’t have drunk so much. You are torturing yourself.” She walked over to him and took away the glass from his grip. She put it down and took a glimpse of his wounded hand.
“Now you feel sorry, huh? Don’t you remember how stubborn and serious you appeared at that moment?” he smiled. When seeing her trying to avoid eye contact out of embarrassment, he gently pulled her into his arms and offered her a domineering kiss.
“Hey, don’t make drinking the excuse for your groping!” she blinked her eyes with her blushed face. Then she poked his muscular chest with her fair finger.
“It has been so many days…Don’t you think it’s time to let go of your tantrum? Why don’t you tell me the reason for your sudden temper?” he stared at her seemingly annoyed expression and asked. He really hated it for her telling him nothing.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
“So how long have you been staying with your confidante?” actually, she didn’t intend to cling to that point. But since he asked for reason, she deemed it the moment to get the answer.
“Confidante?” he frowned, looking a bit confused.
His expression seemed to upset her even more. She pushed him away and took the glass to fill it with wine by herself. She took a gulp and walked over to him again.
As he was much taller than her, she had to raise her head to stare at him with her alluring eyes. Then she reached out her hand to pinch his jaw and directed it downward.
He lowered his head with expectancy brewing within his eyes. Then her red lips approached and she fed him nice vintage once again through a kiss.
Her finger slowly went down and then she licked the wine spilling from the corner of his mouth.
“I don’t think it’s a wise choice to challenge me at this moment.” His voice turned husky and he couldn’t help swallowing. He squinted at her and tightened his hug on her. Then he turned around to carry her back to the bedroom. Once again, he pinned her down on the bed.
“Challenge you? How dare I challenge a married man being sophisticated in hooking up with ladies? I know how many of them have been conquered by your charm. I bet you should be quite proud of it, right?” she huffed and rolled her eyes.
“Hey, just cut to the chase.” He was even more confused when hearing that/
“Mr. Fletcher, you should be brilliant enough to tell what I mean. During your business trip to the St Heila in Fretston, there was a lady answering your phone. Please don’t pretend that you know nothing about it.”
As far as he knew about Jessica, she had never been an unreasonable girl. He looked at her with confusion, slowly loosened his hug and stood up. Then he took out his phone from the night table and noticed that there was such a record.
But he did remember his assistant once told him that Hana, the manager of marketing department, happened to answer his phone.
“Just stay!” he huffed as he saw her trying to leave.
“Now you remember that, huh? Are you afraid I will tell your grandma about it?” fearless, she looked into his eyes.
“Now I know why you have kept your tantrum for so many days…you are jealous, right?” he asked wryly while staring at her.
“I am not in the mood for being jealous!” she hurried to refute.
“But I can smell the jealousy in the air…wow, that’s strong…”
“Just mind your business…”
“Why don’t you admit it? There is nothing to be shame of. Your every unusual behavior is telling me that your jealousy is now burning.”
“Do you deem it necessary for me to keep you in the dark if I wanna hook up with other girls? Come on, I would rather bring them to your front.”
“Lorenzo, though we are now in a contract marriage, you’d better keep in mind that behave yourself as stipulated! How dare you put on a righteous look while covering up your nasty doings? Hey, just stop playing shameless!” she glared at him and smashed his handsome face with a cushion.
But he only replied with a smile while facing her tantrum.
“Honey, now you really look mad. But Hana just answered my phone when she saw it buzzing. You are gonna tear me apart just because of that? Wow, I can’t imagine what will happen if I do keep a few mistresses on my own. Are you gonna squash my head by then?” while speaking, he pretended to tremble in fear.
Actually, his upset had gone as soon as he figured out the cause of her tantrum. What was more, he seemed to enjoy tampering with her annoyance.
“You cocky jerk!” she was so pissed that she almost bit her own tongue.
“Hey, your mad face looks horrible but somehow cute as well.” He felt quite amused when seeing her aggrieved look.
“You find it amusing, huh?” she slapped on his arm.
“Hey, just lie down for a rest. You have been indisposed and messing up for hours.” Lorenzo stood up to help her lie down on the bed. Then he tucked her in and stood up again.
“You are leaving?” Jessica asked anxiously when seeing him walking out.
“You want me to stay?” he smiled at her, looking happy.
“No! Just leave!” she covered her head with blanket and turned her back on him.
He smiled and then left.
