Chapter 14

As Trevon gracefully helped Selina into his Maybach, he nodded to the driver. "Let's roll." Then they pulled away.
Quinton sected as he watched Selina confidently choose her own path, snubbing her nose at the Harvey family. "She'll regret this," he furned, clenching his hists. Playing tough, huh? Just wait till she gets the boot from the Brady family. Then she'll come back, crying and begging for mercy" Honey, maybe I did push Selina too far, Sara mused, walking over to Quinton, guili washing over her. She pondered whether she'd wounded Selina's pride by calling her a thief in public, although she didn't mean it. Most people would have suspected Selina in that situation.
"Sweetheart, it's not on you, Quinton reassured her. "You said sorry, She's the one blowing things our of proportion. And nobody outdoes the Harveys in generosity. We didn't lose Selina; she walked away from the title of the Harvey family's heiress. That's on her." Sara hesitated, "Okay..."
In the snug backseat of the Maybach, Selina pulled away from Trevon's strong grip. As their hands parted, he somehow felt a fleeting sense of loss.
"Thanks Trevon, she expressed gratitude for his well-timed rescue, which was a lifesaver. Originally, Selina had hoped only to change her address, but now she had to use Trevon's, decidedly a better scenario than staying with the Harvey family. "Remember, we're in this together," Trevon said, sneaking peeks at Selina bathing in the sunny glow streaming through the window. She seems even more captivating today, he remarked in his head. Feeling his stare, Selina faced him and asked, "Where to next!"
"Back to my place, he responded, briefly closing his eyes.
Something slipped Selina's mind until her phone rang Lydia's name flashed on the screen. Selina picked it up immediately. "Oh... Lydia?"
"Selina, sorry I disappeared I was tied up in the bathroom. By the time I got out, you guys had split. You good?" :NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
"All good. The problem's been solved. I'm heading to Trevon's place now"
"Dang, that was fast. He's treating you right"
"Yeah, Trevon's solid, and he just did me a big favor. No worries"
Lydia replied relieved, "Got it. You guys have an agreement, after all. But hey, let me know if he steps out of line, and I'll take care of him. I send your bags over
"Thanks" Selina hung up and exhaled. Lydia hadn't caught on that she was forgotten in Selina's whirlwind exit with Trevon. The Harvey family's shamelessness had truly thrown her for a krop..
The Maybach rolled up smoothly and came to a stop. The driver peered into the rearview mirror and announced, "Mr. Brady, we're here. His eyes lingered on Selina, the woman soon to join their household. By the looks of her, he noted, she seemed a worthy match for Trevon. Mr. Brady certainly has taste, the driver mused.
Trevon and Selina stepped out, gazing at the grand manor before then. The estate was sprated on a maple-covered hill, a coveted spot in the heart of the day. Owning property here meant one had more than money-they had clout. The two pushed through the gates into the manor, where the air was fragrant with blossoms and the setting sun cast a golden glow.
Selina walked beside Theron, taking in the splendor of the gardens. Approaching the villa, a butler greeted them, bowing to them both.
"Devin, meet Selina, Trevon said. To Selina, he added, "Make yourself at home. Anything you need, Devin's your guy
Selina simply nodded. Then Trevon's phone went off. He excused himself to his study to take the call, leaving Selina with Devin Jordan for the grand tour.
"Hoss, we've hit a dead end on Ms. Selina Harvey. We've got the basics, but nothing more. We'll take the fall for this one the voice on the line was anxious. Trevon's crew, win had been working for him for ages, was stumped; they had expected to be tracking down a supposedly simple country girl. All they knew was that she was the Harvey family's long-lost daughter,
"It's fine," Trevon replied curtly and hung up. He watched from the study window as Devin showed Selina around the grounds. A smirk crossed his lips: "You must be Charm," he thought to himself.
The fact that his team came up empty-handed convinced Trevon of Selina's hidden talents. The elusive level of anonymity suggested the work of Charm, the top-tier lucker of the Dark Wel. Interestingly, this contract marriage might hold more secrets than be anticipated. At dinner, Selina handled her imported A5 Wagyu steak with elegance.
"How's everything! Trevon asked from across the table, swirling his wine
"It's impeccable," replied Selina, dabbing her lips with a napkin. "We need to hammer out the terms of this marriage deal and establish some rules.
Trevon set down his wine, intertwining his fingers. "One year. We'll review the contract when it's ready-sign if you agree
"Sounds fair Selina nodded.
A year lined up with Selina's plans, especially since Trevon had helped her escape the Harvey family's clutches. She owed him for that. If it were someone else, the Harvey family might not have let her go
Suddenly, the click-clack of heels echoed down the hall. A woman decked out in gaudy attire and dripping in perfume burst through the door.
With a frown, Devin tried to block her, but she snapped, "Move it. Devin! I'm not here for you. Where's Trevon?"
