Chapter 26 Wish you a good luck.
Chapter 26 Wish you a good luck.
After speaking to Brandon, Bonny was sure that Richard was the uncle. She was a little thrilled. She
tugged Richard's sleeves and asked, "Daddy, why didn't you give the medicine to Mommy yourself that
day? Brandon and I spent a long time looking for the drug store later at that day." Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Richard's eyes narrowed a little.
Pearl scolded Bonny hurriedly, "Bonny. Be quiet."
Bonny drew back her neck. She was always a troublemaker since she was young. Although her brother
would like to take the blame for her, she still couldn't escape her punishments. So she was afraid of
Pearl sometimes, especially when Pearl called her full name.
Immediately, the car became quite.
"You're bad at names?"
Richard's broke the silence.
Pearl was taken aback. She saw two dark eyes, but they were no longer cold. And in fact, he was
staring at her inquisitively.
"Brandon? Bonny?" Richard seemed to be deep in his thoughts, "Any special meanings?"
Pearl pressed her lips. "No."
"Yes." Bonny interrupted, "Mommy, you said our names were special."
Pearl's face stiffened. "Bonny!"
Richard frowned and he noticed that Pearl was becoming nervous. He turned to Bonny and asked,
"Bonny, what do they mean?"
"Mommy said that Brandon means wish you a good luck!"
Good luck...
Hearing it, Brandon's calm face froze.
Pearl lowered her head with huge embarrassment.
It was so embarrassing. When she was pregnant, she got a malposition of fetus. But she still hoped
she could give birth to the children naturally and had been praying "good luck to myself" even when
she was in labor. Therefore, she decided to name the twins after this story, hoping that they would
share this same luck.
They were just names, symbols. Pearl just stuck to them and she did not ponder about it.
However, Ethan had ridiculed her many times because of it.
Suddenly, a quiet laugh rang in the car.
Pearl found it was Richard that was laughing. It was so rare for him to laugh. His perfect face tinted
with a layer of golden sunlight from the window looked incredibly gentle and amiable.
For on second, Pearl thought that she traveled back to seven years ago.
"Daddy, you are even more handsome when you smile." Bonny winked at Richard innocently. "You
should smile more often."
Richard's smile froze for a second. He turned his eyes away from Pearl. The smile vanished soon and
replaced instantly by his usual cold face.
Bonny wanted to say more but Pearl gave her a warning look.
Bonny pouted quietly but she grabbed Richard's sleeves sneaky.
Suddenly, Bonny's stomach growled.
Bonny turned to Pearl and pointed to her stomach. She explained seriously, "Mommy, I didn't say
anything. It does!"
Pearl lost her words. She inspected Richard cautiously and muttered, "I'm not blaming you for that."
"I'm hungry."
"We'll be home in a few minutes."
So many things happened the birthday party. The twins didn't have got the chance to have lunch. She
knew it.
Bonny rubbed her stomach but she still grabbed Richard's sleeve with the other hand.
Richard gazed at the small hand. A few seconds later, he raised his head and said to the driver, "Get a
restaurant."
Pearl looked at Richard in astonishment. "There's no need for that."
Richard took a glimpse at her. His eyes were still cold and calm. He parted his thin lips, "I didn't do it for
you."
