Chapter 1033 Chaim's Intention

Chapter 1033 Chaim's Intention

Julien went silent.

He was surprised that although Chaim was now in a very precarious position, he agreed to give Sydne a loan of 200 million dollars.

Julien could imagine the pressure Chaim was under to convince the bank's board of directors to approve the loan, although Julien suspected that Chaim had done so for a purpose.

Julien guessed that Chaim did it to impress him.

Julien knew Chaim. Chaim did not major in finance when he was young. In fact, he was a psychology major, so he was good at manipulating people.

Chaim told Sydney that he could give her a loan but only if she and Julien were in a stable relationship. Chaim was lying to Sydney.

Chaim's real intention was to find out if Julien and Sydney were in a close relationship and if he could use the opportunity to get something for himself.

When Sydney's company was in trouble, instead of turning to Julien, she turned to the bank for a loan, so Chaim suspected that Sydney and Julien were breaking up, so he lied to Sydney to figure it out.

If Sydney and Julien's relationship remained stable, Chaim could do Sydney a favor and then use it for his own purposes.

After Chaim confirmed that Sydney and Julien were in a good relationship and learned why Sydney requested a loan from the bank, he agreed to give Sydney the loan and gave her his advice.

He wanted Sydney to be grateful to him.

Chaim, who majored in psychology and was also a man, knew exactly how Julien felt if the latter learned that Sydney had asked for a loan from the bank instead of asking him for help.

Therefore, Chaim persuaded Sydney to rely on Julien.

And Chaim kept watching Sydney's reaction when he was talking to her. As long as Chaim was sure that Sydney felt guilty when she learned that Julien would be upset if he learned that Sydney went to the bank instead of asking him for help, Chaim could use this opportunity to persuade Sydney to talk to Julien.

If Sydney talked to Julien, she would definitely mention what Chaim said to her.

Then Chaim would achieve his goal.

Julien would then owe him a favor.

Chaim knew people’s psychology. He knew that Julien didn't like to owe people favors, and Chaim was sure that after Julien learned what he had told Sydney, Julien would be grateful to Chaim and he would absolutely repay Chaim.

Everyone knew that Julien was generous. If Julien admired someone, he would give him a hand, and if someone did Julien a favor, Julien would give that person what he wanted.

Chaim wanted to keep his position in the bank and he needed to get a lot of deposits to achieve the bank’s target.

In Port City, only Julien was wealthy enough to help Chaim accomplish his goals.

He wanted to do Sydney a favor and made Julien owe him one so that Julien would repay him and help him secure his position.

Chaim's plan was well thought out.

No wonder Chaim had become the branch’s president from a clerk in just ten years.

Julien marveled at Chaim's cleverness and his plan. He may even want Chaim to work for him.

Of course, Julien was not happy about Chaim's calculations. Few people would dare to scheme Julien.

But Chaim helped Sydney and told her what Julien actually wanted to say, so Julien would let him go.

With that in mind, Julien put down his glass of water and asked on the phone, "Are Citibank's deposit rates lower this year than last year?"

"Yes." Zach nodded, "There was a slight financial crisis in that country, so the bank rates were lowered a bit. But I'm sure the interest rate will go back up soon and that Citibank will compensate us for the money we lost. You can rest assured."

Julien was one of Citibank's biggest customers.

Citibank would not upset Julien.

"OK," Julien then ordered, "It's daytime abroad. Call Citibank to transfer one billion euros to Chaim's bank, as deposit."

"Hmm?" Zach was confused, "Mr. Flint, why are you transferring money into a domestic bank? Domestic banks have lower interest rates than foreign ones."

And Julien didn’t ask to transfer the money to the head office, but to the branch bank in Port City.

Zach was confused about why Mr. Flint would do this.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Zach repeatedly shook his head. He was perplexed.

'It is a billion euros!'

‘While it's not a lot of money for Mr. Flint, it's a huge amount of money for me. I could never make that much money in my lifetime.'

It was equal to tens of billions of Mediana’s currency.

After the money was deposited in Chaim's bank, not only would Chaim achieve the bank’s target, he might even get a promotion.

"I know that," Julien said into his phone. He grabbed a corner of the towel with his other hand, tilted his head slightly, and began to wipe his wet hair. In a cold voice, he said, "I don't care about the interest."

Zach was speechless at Julien's words.

'Indeed, Mr. Flint is so rich. How could he care about the interest? I'm so stupid.'

The corner of Zach's mouth twitched. He didn't say anything else, but responded with a “yes”.

Finally, Julien ordered, "I hear the Chase family is looking for a commercial port. Send someone go to Chase Corporation tomorrow and offer them a collaboration. We can lower our interest."

Zach was puzzled. He didn't understand Julien's intentions.

Julien arranged for such a large sum of money to be transferred to Chaim's bank and then gave the Chase family the opportunity to work together for little gain.

'Is Mr. Julien helping Mr. Houston and Mr. Chase? What did they do? Why would Mr. Flint help them?' Although puzzled, Zach didn't ask Julien about it.

He knew Julien wouldn't tell him, so he didn't bother.

"Yes, Mr. Flint. I'll arrange for a bank transfer soon. And I'll have someone go to Chase Corporation tomorrow morning. We'll offer them cooperation." Zach said as he pushed up his glasses.

Julien then hung up the phone.

Realizing Julien had hung up, Zach took the phone off his ear. Glancing at the phone screen, he let out a long breath. Then he dialed a number.

At 3 a.m., the conference room at Port City Branch of Mediana National Ban was full.

Everyone was silent. They all stared at Chaim who was sitting at the top of the table, expectation, suspicion, sarcasm, or a sneer in their eyes.

They have various expressions on their faces.
