My Sweet Lawyer Wife

Chapter 18 Innocent

It took a along time for Adriana to wake up.

She opened her eyes and looked at the ward, with the smell of antiseptic drops filling.

“Why am I in the hospital?” She sat up from the bad, a little dizzy. Then she saw the man sitting on the sofa.

She frowned, “Why… why are you here?”

She could only remember she was having a stomachache after drinking, so she went to the hospital, but there wasn’t a taxi on the road, then…

Then she was unconscious.

Peter was austere. Seeing her wake up, he stood up and said, “You didn’t die. I’ll go.”

“Thank you.” Adriana appreciated him a lot.

Although she didn’t like him, he sent her to the hospital.

His frowned eyebrow suddenly relaxed when hearing her appreciation. Then he walked out of the ward.

“Wait!” said Adriana.

“What?” Peter stood there, but he didn’t turn around.

Adriana took her purse and tried to stand up. But when she had just reached the ground, her knees were in pain, so she fell down.

Peter heard that.

He turned around and found her falling on the ground, with her hand bleeding.

The apparatus infusionis in her hand was accidentally out because of her falling down, so her hands was bleeding.

“Oh!” Adriana was in great pain. She tried to stand up, but she failed because of the knees in pain.

Then she found a figure coming to her.

Raising up her head, she found Peter leaned down with a disgusted look on his face and picked her up from the ground. “Don’t drink if you’re not able to.”

Being held in his arms, she found that he smelt a little familiar.

An inexplicable sense of reassurance came over her.

Adriana wanted to retort him, but she failed. She was a little nervous.

“I … just don’t want the company to just go bankruptcy.” It took a long time before Adriana speak.

Peter looked at her, whose face was a beautiful as a doll.

“You want your company not go bankruptcy? Or something else?” he asked.

He had never been close to women. As she lying in his arms, he couldn’t help but think of the night five years ago.

His eyes wondered down her cheek all the way to her slender neck, then to her delicate collarbone, and finally …

He froze.

“Hey! Where are you looking?”

Adriana realized where he was looking.

She was so angry that she slapped him on the face, “What an asshole!”

A loud, crisp snap echoed through the silent ward, plunging the atmosphere into awkwardness.

His cheek went sideways, and the messy hair on his forehead hid the cold and appalling gaze in his eyes.

Adriana was pretty repentant.

“I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that.”

In a moment of panic, she forgot to break away from Peter’s embrace and just stared at him, whose face was as gloomy as ink, anxiously pinching the neckline of her clothes to avoid getting naked again.

“Damn it! Adriana!”

He was angry. Putting her on the bed, he said, “You want to seduce me? Okay, you succeed.”

Then he bent down and kissed her.

Adriana’s brain instantly went down for a few seconds, then drifted awake and immediately struggled. She slapped Peter’s chest ans shouted, “Bastard, let go of me, let go of me!”

It was useless.

But Peter realized what he was doing and stood up, “You can sleep with me for earning money. Why are you pretending to be innocent? What a bitch!”

Then he turned around and left the ward.

The door to the ward was shut with a loud bang, pulling Adriana’s thoughts back.

Lying on the bed, she cried.

It was really an accident.

Peter left the ward and called Hank immediately.

“What can I do for you, boss?” Hank answered and asked.

Peter tugged at his tie in annoyance and said, “Find me a woman immediately and take her to the Hilton.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

If it wasn’t for the fact that he had brought Adriana to the hospital, and that the doctor said she had fallen and hurt her knee, he definitely wouldn’t have done that just now.

God! The woman!

“Well, boss. Is it okay? You already have Miss Theresa.”

Hank didn’t know what his boss was going to do.
