Chapter 30
Chapter 30
“Nonsense!” Belinda glared angrily at Lily. “You’re just a child, What are you talking about kiting for? If word gets out, who would still want to be friends with you?”
Lily remained silent. In front of her grandmother, she always suppressed her violent tendencies. She didn’t want her grandmother to witness any bloodshed.
“Go on, fix her arm for her. From now on, just try to avoid ber.” Belinda patted Lily’s shoulder and advised softly.
Lily sighed softly as she stood and Lifted Susan. With a firm push, she maneuvered Susan’s dislocated arm back into its socket. Lily then pushed Susan away and coldly uttered, ” Get as far away from me as you can.”
Terrified by them, Susan found herself unable to utter a single word. She turned to flee for the door.
Just as she reached the door, Sham suddenly lunged forward and blocked her path. “Mrs. Martinez, you just insulted someone. Aren’t you going to apologize?”
He pulled a small knife from his pocket, idly twirling it in his hand with a mischievous grin. Lily might not care, but he certainly did.
Although he had ulterior motives for accompanying Lily to the hospital to visit Belinda, he couldn’t ignore that Lily was told’s fiancée and practically part of their group. How could he allow someone who had harmed one of them to walk away so easily?
Susan, who had been intimidated by Lily earber, was now terrified of Sham
Too terrified to argue further, Susan ran to the bed and apologized to Belinda, “I’m sorry, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have scolded you”
Belinda just waved her hand dismissively and said, “Go away.”
Susan was too afraid to leave. She trembled as she looked at Shaun and asked hesitantly, “Shaun, can I go now?”
Shaun didn’t answer. He looked at Loid.
With aned from Loid, Shaun stepped aside, allowing Susan to leave
As soon as Susan left, Shaun walked over to Belinda’s bed with a grin. “Hi, Belinda. I’m Shaun,” he greeted.
Loid followed suit, approaching the bed with a polite demeanor. “Hello, Belinda I’m Loid” He then paused briefly before adding, “I’m Lily’s flanc”
Belinda immediately smiled upon hearing this. “Oh, it’s you! You’re quite handsome”
“Thank you” Loid pulled out a chair and sat down, gesturing toward Daniel “This is Daniel.”
Daniel quickly came over to greet BelindaNôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Belindanodded repeatedly at them and then turned to Loid, saying, “Lily’s young and doesn’t understand much yet. If she does anything wrong. I hope you can be understanding
Reassurance flickered in Loid’s eyes as he replied, “Don’t worry, she’s fine.” His faint smile held a hint of politeness, and his tone remained respectful
“Actually, I’m old, and I don’t have much longer to live. The one thing that worries me most is Lily.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Lily’s face turned cold. “Grandma”
Belindasighed. “Loid, I know your family is well–off, and you might be out of Lily’s league On top of that, she’s dealing with this conflict with Susan. But Loid, if ever things don’t work out with you two, please find her a good family.”
Lily slammed her phone on the table. Her expression was grim.
Loid reached for her hand, offering a gentle smile. “Don’t worry, Belinda l‘ take care of her, and I’ll make sure the doctors do everything they can to treat your illness,” he
reassured
“I know my own body best 1 should ve died a long time ago, but Lily has been keeping me alive with all sorts of expensive medicines. Even Lily can’t cure my illness, so I doubt anyone else can‘
With a dismissive wave, Belinda said, “Alright, enough about me. The smell in the ward isn’t very pleasant. Why don’t all of you go out for a walk?”
“It’s okay, Belinda,” Shaun said. He poured Belinda a glass of water with a smile. “We’ll stay here with you.”
The smell in the ward wasn’t pleasant, but Loid and Shaun were no ordinary rich young men. They’d been through a lot, and this was nothing compared to that.
