Chapter 1788
Nash put one hand in his pocket and took out a bank card from his storage ring. "I'll take this phone," he said.
The saleswoman was slightly stunned. "Don't you want to know more about it first?"
She had worked in this mobile phone store for three years and had served hundreds, if not thousands, of customers.
While some were straightforward, all of them would ask about the phone's specifications and value for money. It was the first time she had seen someone like Nash, who paid without asking any questions. "No need," Nash replied coldly.
The saleswoman glanced at Nash.
He was dressed in luxury brands, with refined features and a distant demeanor. He looked like a domineering CEO straight out of a comic book.
Her heart trembled with excitement. After so many years in the capital, she had finally encountered a wealthy young man!
She wondered if he had a girlfriend.
"I'll get you a brand new, unopened one," she said, taking a new phone from under the display case. "Install the SIM card for me," Nash instructed, placing his phone with a cracked screen on the counter. The saleswoman glanced at the phone and noticed it was a new model too. It was at least 99% new. She kindly suggested, "You could just replace the screen on this phone. We have original screens here." Nash frowned and looked at her.
She quickly closed her mouth. Then, she took the SIM card out with a SIM tool, turned on the new phone, activated it, and inserted the SIM card.
After paying by card, Nash took the phone and left.
"Wait... Your old phone!"
The saleswoman ran out with the phone. It was a top-tier model worth over a thousand. Despite the cracked screen, it could still fetch at least a couple of hundred bucks if sold secondhand. She chased him out of the store but could no longer see Nash.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
"He ran so fast..."
She pouted and looked at the phone in her hand. She decided to fix it and see if she could contact the owner.
...
At this moment, Nash checked into the Capiton's Empire Hotel.
Standing by the window and gazing at the night, he contacted Gabriel and Maverick.
An hour later, Gabriel and Maverick arrived at Nash's room. Both of their faces looked grim, clearly saddened by what had happened to Theo's family.
Gabriel asked in a low voice, "Nash, are you here to avenge the Skyes?"
Nash nodded. "I want you to help me gather information on everyone in the Kleins." Maverick's pupils contracted. "Nash, do you intend to wipe out the entire Klein family?!"
Gabriel took a deep breath, placed a hand on his chest, and reminded Nash sternly, "The Kleins' patriarch, Alexander, has come out of seclusion. He's a monster at the
Profound Oriental Realm!"
Maverick muttered, "I also heard that Alexander teamed up with Abinech to kill Anton. This is confidential for now."
Gabriel's eyes widened. "What? Where did you hear that?"
"I have an uncle in the Special Security Department. He's a second-tier official."
"No wonder..."
Gabriel's expression turned serious. "Mr. Varhess is an important figure in our country. Isn't Alexander afraid that the State Capital might issue the Black Decapitation Order?"
The State Capital had a supreme law known as the Black Decapitation Order. This order could mobilize.all sects to take action. Typically, it was only issued when the nation faced severe difficulties.
Alexander, being a Profound Oriental Realm expert, first killed Anton and then exterminated the entire Skye family.
His actions severely threatened societal stability.
The State Capital might issue the Black Decapitation Order to have the major sects deal with Alexander.
"Probably not." Maverick sighed. "A battle between Profound Oriental Realm experts is like a nuclear event. If it happens in a city, innocent people will suffer."
"Nash, I'll arrange for people to investigate the Kleins' information right away," Gabriel said, taking out his phone to make a call.
Maverick also took out his phone and began leveraging his connections.
