Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Celeste felt a bit uncomfortable hearing this.
She was the one who married Liam. When she first chose Liam, she had no idea about the Reed family’s status in J City She chose him
for who he was.
“Hold on, I have to take a call. I talk to you later”
Trisha looked at the call from her boss and found it strange. What could Hudson Reel want at this hour? This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
Although it was odd, she didn’t dare not answer.
“Hello, Mr. Reel?”
“Is this Ms. Colton?”
“Yes, it’s me”
“Do you have any free time recently?”
Considering Hudson would have no good intentions, Trisha pretended to be busy. “I’m a bit busy lately”
“Really?” Hudson sighed. “That’s a pity. That script you wrote before, a film company wants to make it into a TV series, but they think some of the plot isn’t perfect enough. They asked me if the scriptwriter could make some revisions. If you’re busy, forget it. I let them know.”
Trisha was excited, “Wait! Mr. Reel, I think we can discuss this further.”
Mr. Reel shook his head, “how can we discuss it since you are busy?”
Trisha regretted her hasty response.
She gritted her teeth and said, “Mr. Reel, time is like water in a sponge, you can always squeeze some out. I’ll definitely find the time to complete the task you’ve given me!”
“Don’t you find it troublesome?” Hudson probed.
“Not at all! Not a bit!”
Hudson didn’t make things difficult for her, “Alright, I’ll send the company’s requests to your email. Once you’ve revised the script, send it to me. If they’re satisfied, we’ll talk about the price.”
“Okay!”
After hanging up, Trisha felt like she was dreaming. She even forgot to call Celeste back and immediately started working on her laptop.
Celeste had been with Skyler all morning, worrying about making a mistake and not eating much. By midnight, she was starving and couldn’t sleep.
Finally, unable to bear it, she put on a robe and sneaked downstairs to find something to eat.
There was nothing in the kitchen’s pot. She opened the fridge, and besides drinks, there were only fresh vegetables. There wasn’t even a slice of bread.
The nanny said she had made a whole table of dishes, and Liam couldn’t possibly have eaten them all. Did he throw them all away? She searched everywhere but couldn’t find the plates. Even the snacks she had stored at home were gone. Liam probably had them all thrown away.
In the end, she found a box of cookies from a month ago under the TV cabinet.
She squatted on the floor, eating the damp cookies, feeling miserable.
This man didn’t eat snacks himself and didn’t let her eat them either. He called her home but let her starve.
The more Celeste thought about it, the angrier she got, and she couldn’t help but curse, “What a disgusting dude! Why did he throw all my snacks away! He’s so obsessed with staying healthy, I bet he’s gonna turn into an old wizard!”
“Celeste, I didn’t know you are this annoyed.”
Suddenly, a shadow sitting on the sofa let out a gnashing sound, scaring Celeste so much that she slipped and landed on her butt.
“Mr. Reed?”
