My Rich Hot and Infertile or Maybe Not Husband

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Trisha was woken up by a knock on the door in the middle of the night. She opened it to find Celeste standing there, holding her suitcase with one hand.

She smiled a little, her voice sweet and clear, “Can I crash at your place?“–

Trisha handed her a cold Coke, but when Celeste took it, she suddenly slapped her forehead. “Oh, I totally forgot you don’t drink soda! Let me get you some milk instead.”

“No need,” Celeste opened the can and took a sip, “I can drink anything now.”

She used to avoid sodas, cigarettes, and alcohol to prepare for pregnancy, but now that she was getting a divorce, who cared? She would just do whatever that made her happy.

Prep for pregnancy? Let that useless Liam do it himself!

“Are you really getting a divorce with Liam?” Trisha asked, sitting on the other side of the sofa, sounding unsure.

“Yeah,” Celeste paused, then added, “He’s back with Sydney.”

Trisha immediately cursed, “Doesn’t she have any shame? She caused a scene at the wedding, and now she’s back after three years? Are all the men in the world dead? Why does she have to steal someone else’s husband? And what’s up with that jerk Liam? Can’t get enough of that trash?”

Celeste didn’t respond. She felt like she’d been attacked as well.

Trisha coughed, “I’m just making a point, don’t mind the details. So they’re together now, and you’re just gonna let them? Why not let everyone see Sydney’s ugly face? The so–called pure beauty is just a

homewrecker!”

“And then what? Let everyone know my marriage failed, and that I’m a pitiful woman who can’t keep her husband?” Celeste sighed, “This marriage is already a failure, I don’t want to make it even more embarrassing and lose all my dignity.”

“But that’s just making it easier for them!” Trisha said.

Seeing Trisha’s indignant face, she smiled and reassured her, “Actually, it’s not that bad. In these years of marriage, Liam hasn’t been too bad to me. I mean, look at all these jewelry and bags, would I have had a chance to have them before? Thinking about not being able to wear them anymore, I’m kinda reluctant to let go.”

Trisha wasn’t impressed.

Back then, Celeste was the top student in the acting department at the University of T’s Film School. Beautiful and talented, she ruled the scene every year.

All her teachers believed she had a limitless future.

If she hadn’t gotten married right after graduation and given up acting because of the Reed family, she would’ve been a star by now. How could jewelry and bags compare to that?

“So, what are you planning to do next?” Trisha asked.

“Take a break for a few days, settle down somewhere, and then discuss the voice acting for Legend.” Celeste said.

Trisha asked, “Have you ever thought about going from behind the scenes to being in the front?”

Celeste hesitated, “I haven’t faced a camera in three years, I don’t know if I can still do it.”

“That’s doesn’t mean you’ve deserted your professionism. You’ve already gained almost ten million fans just by voice acting! It also requires skills. You know how nowadays some actors lack even basic dialogue skills, but they’re still popular, right? You have both looks and talent, what are you afraid of? Even if you don’t become a superstar, you’ll definitely be able to make a living.” Trisha assured her.

That was true, even if her acting career didn’t work out, her fame in the voice acting world was enough to ensure a worry–free life. It was worth a try.

More importantly, she really loved acting. Giving up her passion for marriage was the most foolish decision of her life.

But luckily, it was not too late.

The two chatted for half the night Trisha finally yawned and was sent to bed by Celeste.

She laid down on the sofa, thinking it would be hard to fall asleep, but she soon drifted off.

However, she didn’t sleep long before her phone rang and woke her up.

She answered the call groggily, “Hello?”

The trembling voice of the housekeeper came through, “Ma’am, where did you put Mr. Reed’s blue shirt?”

Celeste’s head was a bit foggy, but she replied instinctively, “Second shelf on the east side of the walk– in closet on the second floor.”

There was silence on the other end, and then the housekeeper said again, “I looked everywhere, but I couldn’t find it.”

“It’s impossible, I ironed it and put it in there myself. Ask Liam if he misplaced it.” Celeste said. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

The housekeeper whispered, “Mr. Reed said he didn’t touch it, ma’am, can you come back and look for it?”

At this point, Celeste was fully awake.

She was sure Liam was standing right next to the housekeeper. She knew exactly where all his clothes were, how could they not find it?

“If you can’t find it, look harder. Check all the closets, one by one. If you still can’t find it, have him wear something else!” With that, she hung up the phone.

She glanced at the time, six in the morning.

Liam had really gone too far! Calling this early just to ask about a shirt! Was he out of his mind?!

On the other side.

The housekeeper looked terrified, “S–sir, ma’am hung up.”

Liam looked at her. He wasn’t deaf, he could hear the busy tone.

“Sir, do you still want to wear the blue shirt?” The housekeeper asked.

Liam’s face was tense. After a few seconds, he said coldly, “Ask her which tie to wear with this shirt.”

The housekeeper didn’t say a word.

It should be the beige patterned tie. She had seen it several times and remembered it–surely the sir would know which one

to wear?

Still, the housekeeper didn’t dare to question her boss. She reluctantly called Celeste again.

This time, the call rang for a while before Celeste answered.

“Ma’am, we found the shirt, but which tie should he wear? You usually pick them, and I don’t really know. I’m afraid I’ll mess up and Mr. Reed will get angry.” The housekeeper said.

Celeste rubbed her temples. “The beige patterned one, in the fourth layer of the left drawer, third slot.”

There was some rustling on the other end, and then the housekeeper whispered again, I can’t find it…”

Celeste paused for a second and said, “Put Liam on the phone.”
