Chapter 89
Chapter 89
Celeste’s eyes brightened up, but she still asked tentatively, “Are you sure it’s okay?”
Mason nodded, but then said, “Before that, we’ll need to ask the manager to open a room for us.”
Celeste looked at him confusingly.
Mason smiled, gently pointing at her clothes.
Looking down, Celeste saw that her white suit and pants were a mess from climbing the wall and
window. It wouldn’t be suitable for the dinner party, let alone walking on the street. He reassured her,
“You look cool like this, but you can be even more beautiful at the party”
He was maintaining her dignity while subtly praising her. Who didn’t like hearing such words?
Celeste imagined what Liam would say.
He would probably say directly. “What are you doing here?” Then threw a towel on her head, warning
her not to disgrace him. Just thinking about that made Celeste instantly angry. How could people’s
personalities be so different?
The manager readily opened a room.
“You clean up first, and I’ll come back later.” Mason settled her in and then left the room.
Celeste let out a sigh of relief. She was worried Mason would come in and make her awkwardly look for
conversation topics. Fortunately, Mason was indeed a gentleman, not even entering the same room
with her to avoid misunderstandings to protect a woman’s reputation and dignity.
As soon as Mason got on the elevator, Nicolas asked him in the group chat, “Mason, did you fall into
the toilet?”
Mason didn’t reply.
Nicolas sent another message, “Bob said you were ‘playing games with a girl in the bathroom. Is that
true? How come someone as pure as you suddenly plays such exciting games? Who’s the chick?”
Mason pursed his lips, “Clean up the dirty jokes in your head. Do you think everyone is as filthy as
you?”
“Hey, what’s filthy about the relationship between men and women? Right, Liam?”
Liam replied, “When it comes from your mouth, it’s filthy”
Nicolas choked, and after a while, he said, “When are you two finally coming? These old guys are
trying to introduce me to girlfriends, and I’m so bored. Come help me share the burden.”
Liam coldly said, “I’m married. I can’t help you.”
Nicolas thought to himself, his marriage was in crisis, so why did he still seem so smug when he said
he was married?
Mason said, “I’ll bring someone over later.”
Why did Mason have to announce it in the group chat that he was bringing someone?
Nicolas thought for a moment and suddenly had an idea. He asked tentatively, “A girl?”
Mason replied, “Yes, the one I mentioned before, the one I met in the hospital.”
Nicolas immediately became gossip-hungry, “You didn’t keep her contact information, how did you get
in touch?”
Mason smiled faintly, “Perhaps it’s a special kind of fate.”
“Hopeless, oh god, even Mason is going to end his single life. From now on, my parents will have even
more excuses to pressure me to find a girlfriend.”
Mason laughed and said, “We just happened to bump into each other.” Mason remembered when
Celeste called him, stammering his name, and sighed, “She probably hasn’t even remembered my
name yet.”
Nicolas became interested again, “Wow, even you can’t impress her, this woman’s taste must be really
picky. Is she trying to seduce you or something? I’ll have to keep an eye on you later. These girls
nowadays are so calculating. If you act innocent with them, they’ll be all flirty with you. But if you try to
be flirty with them, they’ll say they were raised strictly and act all innocent”
“Anyway, women are the most unpredictable creatures in this world. Don’t be fooled by their pretty
appearance.” Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Liam, who had been speechless about this topic, suddenly said, “You’ve got a point there.”
