My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2303

Chapter 2303

Jordan stood on the spot, completely frozen. The white hospital light shone coldly from behind him. His eyes deepened in the shadows, but he remained calm. He did not seem to be panicked at all. He neither argued back nor made any effort to explain.

In the enormous ward, it was so silent I could hear a pin drop. I had no idea what he was thinking about. However, I knew that my forceful actions that endangered my life had elicited a reaction.

After a long time, I could no longer hold it together anymore and almost fainted. Finally, Jordan reacted.

He came over and gently held my wrist, trying to help me up. "Get up."

His voice was soft, as though he was afraid of scaring me.

Only then did I fully open my eyes and look at him warily like a rabbit that had fallen into a trap. I did not intend to follow his orders.

Jordan exhaled deeply. His eyes were complicated and helpless. "He didn't die. I was just joking." "It wasn't funny at all." I squinted at him and took the opportunity to shake his cold hand off me. I staggered to stand up with the help of the cab and sat back on the bed.

Jordan stood beside me in silence and watched. After I sat down, he walked out of the ward.

Not long after, a nurse came in and helped me with the wound on my forehead.

I casually asked the nurse a few questions. Fortunately, I had returned to Jarold City. No one was guarding me outside, so I had complete freedom. As to whether people were watching me in secret, I no longer cared.

After the nurse left, I contacted Aaron immediately.

He answered almost instantly. "Thank God, you're finally answering the phone. Wynn told me Jordan took you. Is everything okay?"

While I was in a one-day coma, all my missed calls were from Aaron. It seemed like he was pretty worried about me.

"I'm fine." I looked sideways at the wound on my shoulder and said lightly, "How are Wynn and the rest?"

I had promised them so many times, but in the end, I had to break it. They must have been very disappointed with me.

"Well, it is what it is. You know Emma. She's great with kids. Aurelia and the others are having a blast. They barely even remember you," Aaron said half-jokingly.

I pursed my lips and smiled. "That's good."

If they only had sad memories to recall about me, I would much rather they live a carefree life. It was fine even if they forgot about me.

"You're stubborn as always. When will you be back?" Aaron asked.

"There's something else I need to do. So I might need a few more days. He was smart. If he saw my injuries, it would only make him worry more. Hence, I decided to recover before heading anywhere else.

Worried that he might sense something was off, I quickly changed the subject. "I actually have something else to talk to you about. I think I found Jordan's hideout."

Aaron immediately became serious. "Where are you now?"

My chest tightened as I wondered briefly if he found out that I was hospitalized.

"On an island," I whispered.

"Which island? Local or international?" Aaron was not going to give up.

I breathed out a sigh of relief and said, "I don't know, that's why I need your help. Jordan brought me to his poison factory. I can confirm that the factory is his cash cow. If we destroy the place, it will be much easier for us to deal with him." All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Enough." Aaron's voice suddenly turned cold.

At this time, I was desperate to grab at whatever straws I could. "No, listen to me. I know it's hard, but we can find—"

"Stop it!" Aaron snapped, scaring me out of finishing my sentence.

Over the phone, his voice was firm. "An undercover agent that gets exposed never comes back in one piece. I don't want to see you in pieces the next time we meet. Come back first, and we'll discuss it slowly. Before that, no matter what you tell me, I will act like I never beard it."
