Chapter 453 The Courtship

Nathaniel’s proud face suddenly froze. He grabbed Chitt’s tie and snatched back the tie clip. “You don’t

ask me and take it yourself. Mr. Floyd, you are very rude.”

Marco gasped when he saw this scene. He was afraid that these two would fight here.

Chitt raised his chin lightly. “Following people who don’t know how to cherish it will only delay its radian

ce. It deserves better.”

A cold light flashed in Nathaniel’s eyes. “How do you know that I don’t know how to cherish? Do you kn

ow?”

“Of course. And I know more than you.”

Chitt said word by word as if squeezed out of his teeth.

When he thought of how Janet had suffered so much ridicule from this

scumbag, hist heart ached as if someone had torn it apart.

Now that he was back. He would protect her well, and would never give Nathaniel the

opportunity to turn back.

Nathaniel narrowed his eyes dangerously. “Is Mr. Floyd fighting against me?”

This was the first man who dared to declare war on him openly and honestly. It seemed

that his guess was right. He really came rushing to snatch Janet away.

Chitt nodded. He took a step forward. His eyes were full of provocation. And he

responded with a voice that only two people could hear.

“So what? Do you dare?”

Marco stood not far away and watched. Although he couldn’t hear what they said, the

momentum between the two of them was scary enough.

He moved to Janet and asked worriedly, “Ms. Longfellow, will they fight?”

Janet frowned, really didn’t understand what was wrong with these two people meeting

for the first time, couldn’t they be born to be enemies?

If they became enemies, one was the investor of the racing project and the other was the

project manager, how could she run her business?

Not far away, Nathaniel was provoked by Chitt and was about to punch Chitt in the face with his fists cl

enched. Janet quickly grabbed Chitt and took a step back.

“The time is almost up. It’s time for us to take the staff to the restaurant.”

The words were said to Chitt. But her eyes fell on Nathaniel, full of warning.

Chitt suddenly put away the cold expression on his face and looked at Janet as if he was

a different person and as if he was not the one who provoked Nathaniel just now.

“Let’s go as you wish.”

Nathaniel was left behind. His heart which fell to the bottom came back to life.

He stopped Marco. “Do you have a department dine–together tonight?”

Marco nodded. “Mr. Floyd has just arrived. We will hold a welcome banquet.”

Chitt followed Janet into the elevator, reached out, and pressed the button on the

negative floor.

The elevator door closed slowly. Just as it was about to close, a hand suddenly squeezed

into the

gap.

Nathaniel’s stern face appeared in front of the two of them. He walked in calmly and

squeezed in between Janet and Chitt without any embarrassment.

Janet frowned and really couldn’t understand Nathaniel’s series of actions today. Could it be that he rea

lly broke his head last time?

“Why are you getting in? Don’t you want those things?”

With his hands in his pockets, Nathaniel stared at the elevator door.

“I’m going to dinner with you.”

“No.”

“No!”

Janet and Chitt refused in unison. Nathaniel’s face almost changed. And the had been suppressed beg

an to surge again.

anger

that

The veins throbbed

on his forehead. “Since Mr. Floyd is in charge of the racing project, he is my partner. I should get to kno

w him well.”

The reason was unassailable. Janet couldn’t think of a reason to refuse. She didn’t really want to

put the problems that could be solved outside of work in work times, not to mention, this

was Nathaniel’s own choice to work overtime.

Chitt’s eyes fell on the elevator buttons in front of him. His lips curved up.

He was worried that he didn’t have a chance to deal with Nathaniel. If he didn’t teach Nathaniel a lesso

n tonight, he would change his surname to Webster!

The two men refused to give in to each other. The narrow space of the elevator was filled with a strong

murderous aura, making it hard to breathe.

Marco’s heart was beating so fast that he was afraid that the two big shots would start fighting.

After finally arriving at the underground parking lot, Marco breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that it was t

ime to stop. But Chitt and Nathaniel were deadlocked in front of

the door.

Marco was speechless.

Chitt took the lead in attacking, “Mr. Webster, don’t you have your own car? Why do you want to take th

e same car with us?”

Nathaniel leaned on the car with one hand. His face was full of the arrogance of the superior. “Does

Mr. Floyd not understand workplace etiquette? You are in the same car as your superiors, and you sho

uld sit in the co–pilot.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Marco noticed that Mr. Floyd’s eyes instantly turned cold. Sparks flew

in the air as the two looked at each other. He shrank his neck and took a step back cautiously.

It was just a seat. Was it necessary?

It would only take ten minutes.

If they had time to quarrel over who would sit next to Janet, it was better to go to the dinner table to qua

rrel, that time was still long!

Janet sat in the back row for five minutes and finally slammed the car door unbearably. “Shut up!”

She opened the co–pilot’s door with a sullen face and sat in.

“Will you go? If you don’t move anymore, you can take a taxi by yourself!”

It was fine for Nathaniel whose head was hurt to mess up. Why did the new manager Chitt become so

childish after he met Nathaniel? She was so angry because of their arguing!

Chitt and Nathaniel stared at each other. Now, Janet sat in the front by herself. Neither of them had to fi

ght for the back seat.

The two men got into the car, one on the left and one on the right, and each sat tightly against the car d

oor, leaving a large space in the middle as if the other had an infectious disease and would die if they g

ot close.

After some delay, when they rushed to the restaurant, the other employees had already

arrived.

“Welcome, Mr. Floyd!”

As soon as he opened the door and entered, the room burst into warm applause and

cheers.

The person guarding the door blew a tube in his hand. The ribbons fluttered lightly,

falling on…

They fell on Nathaniel’s face.

After seeing Nathaniel’s gloomy face clearly, the room fell silent for a moment.

Why was Mr. Webster here? The employees looked at each other. No one dared to move

except to blink.

Chitt got into the door, glanced at the ribbons hanging on Nathaniel’s face, and showed

a satisfied smile on his face.

“Mr. Webster, it is a good sign.”

Nathaniel unhurriedly took down the ribbons on his face, glanced at Janet

meaningfully, then looked at Chitt, and chuckled, “I do have something to ask. Thank

you, Mr. Floyd, for your kindness.”

After speaking, he put the ribbons properly into his pocket.

To fight with him, Chitt didn’t have the ability!

He was bound to win Janet!

The smile on Chitt’s face froze for a moment. He turned his eyes away and nodded politely to everyone

. “Thank you, everyone. We will work together in the future.”

Chitt walked to the table, took the initiative to help Janet pull out the chair, and sat

down next to her.

Marco looked hesitantly at Nathaniel, who was standing still. “Mr. Webster, please sit

down.”

Nathaniel pulled away the chair on Janet’s left and sat down. He unbuttoned the cuffs and rolled up the

sleeves, exposing his knuckle wrists.

After a set of movements, Janet keenly smelled the perfume on his body, a rich sandalwood fragrance,

which invaded her senses. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Janet tilted her head towards Nathaniel. Nathaniel subconsciously leaned over.

“Do you wear perfume?”

Nathaniel’s eyes sparkled. He heard his own heartbeat, which even overwhelmed the

noise.

“Yes. Do you like it?”

Janet frowned and looked at Nathaniel in a weird way. “I can’t say whether I like it or not. I just think tha

t this smell makes you look like you are in courtship tonight.”
