He lit a fire around her and their egg, before standing up. He leaned against the fireplace to watch them for a moment.

“I will never leave you to do anything by yourself. Not again, my queen. It’s me and you forever and always. I love you.”

He knew she couldn’t hear him, but he had to tell her anyway. He just hoped that Gemma was awake enough to hear for both of them.
