My Mommy’s Brave Heart

Chapter 286

Duke was still at home. She should send him away first.

Adina walked out of Alden's room before she gently closed the door.

When she walked upstairs, she saw Duke sitting on the sofa. He did not look like he was leaving. It seemed that he still wanted to tell her something.

She went to the kitchen and got a cup of warm water before she came over and softly said," Mr. Winters, thank you for taking care of my kids tonight."

"This is the third time you have thanked me."

Duke took over the water, and he looked at her.

He pursed his lips. He wanted to say it, but he did not know how he should open up.

Only the Winters family and a few members of the Daugherty family knew about George and Harold's biological mother.

He always thought that he did not need to explain this to anyone.

But a voice in his heart told him now that if he did not take the initiative to tell Adina, she would not step into the Winters family again after she knew it from someone else.

He kept thinking about it, and he hesitated. He never felt struggled like this when he dealt with a big project worth billions of dollars.

Adina stared at his exquisite features, and she did not know what he was struggling with.

Since this man did not know how to open up, she also had something to say.

"Mr. Winters, I went back to the Daugherty family tonight." Adina put down the glass of water and leaned backward slightly. This was a self-protective posture.

She indifferently smiled. "I always found it strange that Tyson would suddenly come to me after five years, and he wanted to grab the kids' custody with me as soon as he came. It was only after today that I knew Dew told Tyson about me. In other words, Dew is the person who put me in this situation today."

Duke frowned slightly. "Why would she know Tyson coincidentally?"

Adina's smile slowly became colder.

Five years ago, Dew knew Tyson, so her eighteenth birthday party was ruined.

What was so strange that Dew and Tyson knew each other?

But it happened five years ago, so there was nothing to talk about.

Adina indifferently said, "I'm telling you these because I want to let you know that I will fight back if Dew hurts me. I hope you won't interfere with the matters between us."

Duke frowned more. "Please say it clearly."

This woman was thanking him gently just now.

But she suddenly emitted a cold aura in the next second. There seemed to be a knife hidden behind her words.

"I know you're very close with the Daugherty family, and there seems to be something between you and Dew." Adina paused for a while, and her lips were filled with sarcasm. "I heard that you're going to be engaged with Dew. If Dew is your fiance, will you be able to hold yourself back from interfering when you see me dealing with her?"

Duke's expression instantly became cold.

His fingers turned slightly cold as he gently tapped on the table. He firmly asked, "Who told you Dew is my fiance?"

Adina pursed her lips.

She actually did not want to ask about the relationship between Dew and Duke, but she just popped out this question for some reason.

Even if Dew was Duke's fiance, so what? When she should take action, she would still do it. She would not fear anything.

"She is not my fiance. I have... no relationship with her," Duke coldly said.

Dew was the boys' mother, but she was not related to him. They were really not in any relationship. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

When Adina heard his answer, her tension was suddenly relieved.

She smiled faintly. "Okay, I got it. It's getting late now. You should go home now, Mr. Winters."

Duke got up. He stared at Adina's fair face for a few seconds before he still turned around and left the mansion.

He should get another chance to explain about the boys.
