Chapter 55
Chapter 55
“Lex!” Sonia happily pulled Alex to the couple’s outfit, asking him enthusiastically, “Do you think it’s good?
Candice just said it looks nice.”
“Is that so?” Alex looked at Candice, who stood there with no particular expression. Then, he gently nodded. ”
It’s not bad.”
Alex turned away and casually asked Sonia, “Want to wear it now?”
Sonia was visibly excited, “Can we?”
With Alex’s tall and well-proportioned figure, even bright and youthful colors like blue and white didn’t look out
of place on him.
It even subdued his usual mature aura, adding more vitality to his appearance.
The store owner was full of praise when he saw them. He packed the clothes that Alex and Sonia had changed
out of and handed them to Candice.
“Your two friends are a match made in heaven. Those clothes fit them perfectly!”
Candice looked down at the bag, thinking of asking the owner to give it to Sonia. When she looked up, she
realized Sonia had already pulled Alex out of the store.
From the back, they indeed looked well suited for each other.
Candice fell silent momentarily. Then, she took the bag and then walked out of the store.
As soon as she stepped outside, she saw a delicately carved wooden sculpture displayed in the next store. It was about the size of a palm and was vividly lifelike.
Candice stopped to take a look, and the owner came over, asking, “Three hundred and eight each. Interested?”
Candice nodded. “Wrap it for me.”
The moment she saw this wooden carving, she thought of Jackson.
Just as she finished paying for her purchase, Sonia and Alex returned. Seeing Candice buying something, Sonia couldn’t help but be curious and asked, “Candice, do you like wooden carvings?”
“It’s a gift.” Candice tersely replied.
Sonią laughed. “Is it for Jackson?”
Candice didn’t refute Sonia’s words. She waited for the owner to pack the items. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Alex calmly looked at Candice. Then, he said flatly, “You’re giving Jackson some wood, huh? Aren’t you afraid that he’ll think you’re a blockhead?”
It was a blatant mockery, but Candice didn’t want to say much to him. She took the packaged items and asked, “When are we going back?”
There wasn’t much to see on the commercial street near the scenic spot. Sonia held Alex’s hand and said, ” Lex, I’m tired. Let’s go back.”
Candice had to go to the parking lot first to drive the car over. It was obvious that Sonia and Alex had no intention of going with her.
When she brought the car back, Sonia had a bunch of flowers in her hand. With Stugan City having spring-like weather all year round, the flowers here were famous.
Candice was allergic to pollen; it was manageable.from a distance or with a few flowers, but Sonia had a bunch, and Candice couldn’t handle it.
However, asking Sonia to throw away the flowers wasn’t practical. Candice parked the car, took a mask from her bag, and put it on.
When Sonia came up, she paused.
Candice explained, “I’m allergic to pollen.”
Sonia immediately looked at Alex, “Lex, why didn’t you tell me Candice is allergic to pollen?”
Alex was still dressed in the blue and white couple’s outfit, and he remained indifferent as ever. He rolled up his sleeves, revealing his well-defined forearms.
Then, he raised his hand to open the car window a bit and casually said, “I forgot.”
After a pause, he added, “Besides, you like it, don’t you?”
A shy smile appeared on Sonia’s face as she looked at Candice. She pretended to be modest and said, “Don’t do this again; it’s not good.”
As Candice’s mask covered her face securely, she wasn’t affected much.
She drove the car directly back to the hotel, handed the keys back to Alex, and went upstairs. She hadn’t taken off her mask yet, so her breathing felt a bit stuffy.
