My Husband's Secretary Thought I Was His Mistress Novel by CreamPuff_Mildsweet

Chapter 6

I had no strength left, lying on the ground like a corpse, waiting for my fate.

The dark crowd was like the Grim Reaper, each person holding a knife. Lily had turned everyone into accomplices, and I was cast into absolute hell. From my initial wails and desperate struggles, I had reached the point where I couldn’t even move my fingers. Lily watched me suffer with a satisfied smile. But she still found it insufficient.

She said to the crowd, “I really hate her eyes. Whoever destroys them will have their bonus doubled next season.”

Upon hearing this, many people got thrilled. Jennifer, who had initially hesitated, stepped forward trembling. “I’ll do it.”

She held a small utility knife and advanced towards me step by step.

At that moment, Xena stepped forward.

It was the person who had pleaded for me earlier. When her back was turned to Lily, I saw the guilt in her eyes and read her lips. “Hang in there.”

I was dragged up again by my hair, and the woman banged my head against the corner of the table. Though it was painful, it avoided my eyes. Lily seemed dissatisfied. “You’re not very precise with your aim.”

Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and a man strode in, his voice stern. “What’s going on here?”

I was left on the ground, wanting to lift my hand and throw myself into Simon’s embrace, to tell him that our long-awaited child was gone, cruelly killed by the woman before me. But Lily stepped in front of me first and gently explained to Simon, “Mr. Gates, this is the woman I mentioned earlier.”

Simon frowned slightly. “Even if you’re chasing someone out, this is too much.”

Lily sneered. “Mr. Gates, you’re too merciful. This woman pretends to be innocent but is actually a madwoman. She heard that I wouldn’t let her in, and immediately went crazy, attacking me with a knife, stabbing anyone she saw. If I hadn’t reacted quickly, she would have hurt me.”

Simon remained silent, his face cold and grim, unsure whether to believe her or not.

Lily immediately signaled to the surrounding colleagues. “If you don’t believe me, you can ask them. If it weren’t for the help of the other colleagues, who knows how many people would be injured in the office now.

“But Mr. Gates, between life and death, it’s hard to control the force that was used. Though she looks severely injured, they are actually just injuries that aren’t critical.”

Simon nodded, seemingly convinced by her explanation.

“Step aside, let me see.”

Simon moved past Lily and approached to check my injuries. However, when his gaze landed on my exposed skin, he turned his head away.

“What about her clothes?”

“She cut them with scissors when she went mad. We were worried about the scissors in her hands and didn’t dare to stop her.”

Simon nodded. “Send her to the hospital.”

“Honey…”

I used all my strength to utter that word slowly, but the voice was too soft for Simon to hear clearly.

“What?”

He looked at me with confusion, uncertainty lurking in his eyes, yet there was fear deep within them.

Slap!

Lily slapped me again.

“Still unrepentant, even at this point, you’re still trying to seduce Mr. Gates.”

“Stop it!”

Simon’s voice was indifferent but carried an undeniable authority.

“I said to send her to the hospital. Didn’t you hear me?

“Also, contact this girl’s family. Since this happened in our company, we should compensate as necessary.”

Lily complied with Simon’s instructions but cast a sinister glare at me.

“Simon!”

I used all my strength to shout again. Although my voice was still faint, it was enough to make Simon turn around.

This time, his uncertainty was magnified, and he slowly approached me. The closer he came, the more I felt his panic.

Until his hands trembled slightly as he brushed aside my disheveled hair.

Simon’s eyes widened.
