Chapter 7 Too Wronged
Chapter 7 Too Wronged
The man who walked in was none other than Credence.
He did not even shoot Dorothy a glance. Instead, he went straight to Rosalie, who was lying in a pool of
blood and groaning in pain. He bent down and scooped her up. Then, he glanced over at Dorothy and
asked. "Why did you hurt Rosalie?"
His voice was as cold as usual. Also, there was a familiar scent of alcohol when he spoke.
Before Dorothy could respond to the joy of seeing him, she was met with his ruthless accusation. When
she looked up and caught his gaze, she could feel a bone-chilling cold spreading throughout her body.
"I didn't do it. I swear!"
Staring at Credence with a fierce determination, Dorothy denied it repeatedly.
She knew that he had never trusted her. Especially when it came to Rosalie, he was completely Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
blinded by love.
But at that moment, she could no longer hold everything in. She was determined to prove her
innocence, and reveal Rosalie's true colors.
Dorothy pursed her lips together. Rosalie was lying in Credence's arms, throwing her a taunting gaze.
Ignoring her, Dorothy slowly walked toward Credence. She stared him straight in the eyes and spoke
calmly, " stood less than a meter away from the man. She looked up at him and said calmly, "I did not
cheat on you, nor did I hurt Rosalie. I'm saying it again, all of these were here doing! Even the paternity
test report was..."
Suddenly, Dorothy's lower jaw was clamped by two slender fingers without mercy. Credence's cold
voice loomed over the top of her head. "Dorothy Fisher, does your love for me come in the form of
hurting my families over and over again?"
"What... What do you mean?" Dorothy was baffled.
The fact that she had loved Credence for ten whole years was widely known by people in Talco City.
But when had she ever hurt his family?
Credence held Rosalie tightly in one arm. He pressed his fingers on his other hand hard onto Dorothy's
chin, almost crushing it.
"You pushed my father off the balcony and caused him to be a vegetable. And just moments ago, you
tried to kill Rosalie. I've seen it with my own eyes, Dorothy. Are you going to harm everyone around
me? You'd better pray that Rosalie will be fine. If not, I'll make sure you suffer for the rest of your life!"
Tears framed Dorothy's eyes. She pressed her lips together hard, feeling sorrow pierce her.
She was at a loss for words and felt utterly helpless.
Still, she blinked back tears and tried to explain, "Believe me, Credence. I really didn't do it..."
Watching her holding back her tears and putting up a strong front, Credence's heartstrings seemed to
have been tugged. His cold expression softened for a few seconds.
In their four years of marriage, Dorothy was always at his beck and cold. Also, she was timid and
cautious. Thus, he was taken by surprise that she suddenly had the guts to go against him.
For some reason, his heart was throbbing.
The ward fell into dead silence. At this time, Rosalie suddenly let out an earth-shattering cough.
"Credence, Dorothy didn't mean to hurt. It was an accident. Please forgive her this time!"
"Credence..." She coughed again. "My stomach hurts. It hurts so much..."
Rosalie looked pitiful as she coughed. A stream of blood flowed out of her mouth and dripped onto
Credence's white sleeve.
When he was not looking at her, Rosalie quickly threw Dorothy a smug smile. After that, she tilted her
head and closed her eyes, falling into unconsciousness.
"If anything happens to her, I will make sure you pay for it!" Credence shouted at Dorothy.
Then, he carried Rosalie in his arms and hurried out of the ward to the emergency room.
Dorothy stood in the middle of the empty ward. She watched as Credence's figure disappeared into the
elevator. A profound sadness crossed her face.
After a short while, she felt a dull pain in her stomach. She immediately reached out and pressed the
call bell.
A female doctor she was familiar with came in to examine her. The doctor found that the fetal heart rate
was abnormal and there were signs of a threatened miscarriage. Therefore, she strongly demanded
Dorothy to stay in the hospital for a week for monitoring. Also, Dorothy was told to keep a calm mind.
"Mrs. Scott, for the sake of the child, please keep your emotions in check."
When the female doctor came, she happened to witness the scene in the ward. She had great
sympathy for Dorothy. However, she could only give Dorothy a vague reminder because of Credence's
huge influence in Talco City.
Dorothy extended her hand to her abdomen and rubbed it gently. "Thank you. I know what I should
do." She gave the doctor a grateful and wan smile.
In order to keep her precious little baby, she would endure all hardship no matter how intolerable they
were.
In the evening, a nurse brought her food from the hospital's canteen.
Dorothy had no appetite, but she forced herself to eat half the portion. After cleaning herself up, she lay
on the hospital bed and closed her eyes. Her exhausted mind and body needed some rest.
Just when she was dozing off, the door was kicked open with a bang!
