Chapter 14 The Child Is Yours, Do You Believe It?
Dorothy did not expect that Credence would ignore her fierce resistance. He had imprisoned her in the
room without allowing her any freedom of movement.
When she met his cold gaze, she was on the verge of breaking down. "Credence Scott, I'm not a
criminal. What right do you have to treat me as one?"
He originally did not intend to explain anything to her. However, upon hearing her accusation, he
leaned over and grasped her chin violently. "All because of your ambiguous relationship with Juelz
Sherman, and the unknown father of the child in your belly."
"Don't test my patience. Otherwise, the Sherman family and Juelz will vanish without a trace from Talco
City tomorrow." He added coldly.
Dorothy's face was full of despair. "It's all my fault. I should not have fallen in love with you, let alone
having the title of Mrs. Scott. Let's get a divorce. From now onward, you are free to love whoever you
like, and you can marry whoever you want. I will not interfere. I'm not qualified to anyway. Let's just
separate on good terms, shall we?"
"Are you going to marry that Sherman after divorcing me? Let me warn you, if you don't wish to see
him die, stay away from him!"
Credence suddenly tightened his grip on her chin. "This is the last time I'm asking you. Do you have
anything to do with my father's accident? Also, who is the father of the child?"
Tears ran down her cheeks. She suddenly felt cold all over, and her body could not help but tremble.
She had never thought that, after forcing her to donate her kidney to Rosalie, he was now pointing
fingers at her without any guilt.
At this moment, she was completely heartbroken. Still shedding tears, she smiled. "If I tell you that the
incident had nothing to do with me, will you believe me? And if I say that the child is yours, will you trust
me?"
Her eyes gleamed with the sheen of tears. She fixed her gaze on him intensely, but her tone as calm
as still water, as if she was an outsider.
But her flushed face and red eyes had betrayed her true feelings. She was not as calm as she
appeared to be.
Credence's gaze landed on her eyes which were flooded with tears, and then on her soft and pale lips.
For some reason, his heart fluttered, as though a splinter was piercing through it, with a mixture of pain
and pleasure.
Surprisingly, Dorothy's tears made his heart ache for her.
That was a feeling that he had never experienced before.
He coughed lightly and ignored the strangeness he felt in his heart. Meeting Dorothy's eyes, he
suddenly let out a cold laugh. "Rosalie needs time to recuperate. A month later, the kidney transplant
surgery would be arranged. You'd better prepare yourself."
Dorothy was stunned. Her face was as pale as a ghost.
Even after Credence had left for a long time, his cruel words still lingered in her ears.
......
Around ten thirty pm, Dorothy opened the window and climbed out of it carefully while the servant who
was monitoring her took a snooze. She escaped successfully.
Unfortunately, she was blocked by Credence at the door of the back garden.
The woman who stood behind him was none other than Rosalie.
Rosalie hid her pride and said in a gentle voice, "Stop acting rashly. It's not good for you and your baby.
Credence and I will talk to the doctor about the kidney transplant. Perhaps there's no need for you to
donate your kidney to me after a month. We will certainly come up with a solution."
Seeing that Rosalie was putting on an act again, Dorothy could not stand her disgusting behavior
anymore. She raised her hand and slapped Rosalie on the face, questioning her furiously, "Stop putting
on a show before me! You're the one who made Sheldon a vegetable! And you forged the paternity test
report as well! As for your kidney, there was no rupture at all. Why do you even need a transplant?
Everything you did was to take revenge on me. You told me this yourself." This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Dorothy then took a deep breath. Pointing at Rosalie, she said with a sneer, "Credence, the real culprit
is here. Just ask her!"
Credence knocked off Dorothy's raised arm and looked at her with a sinister gaze.
"I've investigated everything, and everything is linked to you. Could you think twice before you point
your fingers at Rosalie?"
His icy look made Dorothy feel that it was entirely possible that he would kill her the next moment.
