My Formidable Husband

Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Chapter 30 Reverse Card

Cedric and Eleanor were almost about to cough up blood. They had even tried to flaunt the three

thousand dollar wine in front of Christopher so that they could mock Julianna.

However, less than half an hour later, the two of them had taken out the Globetrotter Winery’s most

precious bottle of Lafite. One bottle of the aforementioned wine was worth more than five months of

Cedric and Eleanor’s yearly income from the factory.

“I’m feeling a little unwell, so we’ll be heading back now!” Cedric wasn’t in the mood to drink any wine.

Holy crap, this is not wine but poison!

He had been so ready to brag and look down upon Christopher and Julianna that he hadn’t expected

them to completely turn the tables around.

“Y-yeah! I’m not feeling well too.”

Eleanor hurriedly turned and scurried after her husband.

Julianna thought about how those two had been mocking them and couldn’t help but feel glad at the

sight of them running away with their tails between their legs. She said to them, “Let’s meet again when

you’re both feeling better!”

The two of them continued to run off without looking back. Eleanor felt like she was bright red with

anger. Are you kidding me? Meet again?

She hoped she would never meet either of them ever again in her entire life! Turning to glare at her

husband, she suddenly wished she could kick him hard.

Christopher saw Julianna’s gleeful smile and felt his lips spread into a grin as well. After she watched

them leave, she said to the manager, “Since our friend is already gone, we’ll be leaving the wine here.

We have other things to take care of, so feel free to go do what you need to do now!”

“Alright, madam. We’re always here to help if you need anything.” The manager could tell from Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Christopher’s clothes alone that he may be low-key, but he was powerful. He bowed at Christopher and

Julianna before leaving.

“Why did you return the wine?” Christopher asked in shock.

“This isn’t our card, remember? We can’t just misuse someone’s generosity like that. He’s already

helped us so much, and I’m more than satisfied now that those two clowns have finally left,” Julianna

said with a bright smile.

Christopher wanted to pin the VIP black card on Lupine, but since Julianna hadn’t asked about the

owner, he simply nodded silently.

Julianna looked at him and suddenly felt a gush of remorse at how he had been embarrassed just now.

Even she, as his wife, had yelled at him. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way just now,”

she apologized.

Christopher felt his heart clench. He could tell how much regret Julianna was feeling. He wanted to hug

her and tell her it was alright, but those five years in the military had taught him everything except how

to console girls.

“I’m fine. Besides, I’ve gotten used to it after all these years. I’m not as weak as you think, alright? Plus,

I feel like those two need consoling more than I do,” Christopher said with a shrug and a smile.

Julianna couldn’t help but giggle at the thought of how pathetic her two university classmates had

looked as they practically scampered out of the place. “Well, they deserved it. Let’s go home.”

Christopher nodded and they walked out of Globetrotter Winery side by side.

Frank and Cindy were asleep by the time they reached home. After saying goodnight to Julianna,

Christopher went back to the garage.

He had just sat down when his phone rang. He picked up the phone and noticed it was Lupine calling.

It was already so late, so Lupine calling at this hour had to mean that something was wrong.

Christopher picked up and asked in a low voice, “What happened?”

Urgently, Lupine replied, “The border is in danger. The higher-ups are ordering for you to return.”
