It wasn't that Natalie had a skewed perspective, but in her opinion, there was no need to be overly cautious of Skylar. With her stunning looks and figure, Skylar was the kind of woman men found impossible to resist.
If Skylar had fewer moral boundaries, Ned might already be in her bed by now.
"Well, it seems like you all know each other. Alright, I guess I said too much," Claudio muttered, realizing the situation was becoming tense and not wanting to stir up any trouble.
Besides, now that Skylar was back, she wasn't going anywhere. He would have plenty of chances to get her.
Skylar had embarrassed him in front of Ned today. But soon enough, he would teach her a lesson. Sooner or later, she would be begging him in bed. He had promised himself he would get Joe's woman no matter what.
As Claudio slunk away, Skylar had no intention of sticking around either. The restaurant was undeniably popular, and if they continued to wait in line, it would likely be another hour before they got a table.
"I've got something to do with my friend, so we'll head out first," Skylar said to Ned and Rosa,
Natalie sensed her cue and added, "I checked the time. If we leave now, we'll make it just in
time."
With that, the two of them left the bustling barbecue restaurant.
It was dinnertime, and the mall was filled with people coming and going. In no time, Skylar and Natalie had disappeared into the crowd.
Rosa frowned as she watched them leave. "Ned, don't you think it's strange how we keep running into Ms. Sullivan these past few days? It seems a bit too coincidental. Should we have someone look into her? See what her situation really is.
Rosa felt the need to learn more about Skylar. Otherwise, her mind would remain restless.
Ned was clearly distracted, so he simply responded with a noncommittal grunt.
Rosa pursed her lips, wanting to say more. However, seeing that Ned wasn't in the mood for a conversation, she held back.
Glancing at the long line outside the barbecue restaurant, she frowned again. "It's way too crowded here. How about we just go for Wiscadian cuisine instead?"
Even though the busy restaurant likely meant the food was delicious, she didn't have the patience to wait for a table. Moreover, her mood was already sour. Seeing Skylar always seemed to put her in a bad mood.
Ned never really cared much about what they ate. Even when they were back in Merida, if the wanted barbecue, he would still take her. However, he would only eat a few bites, his self-discipline always at its peak.
"Let's go," Ned said simply.
Rosa bit her lip. After just a few steps, she asked, "Do you like women like Ms. Sullivan? That guy earlier seemed really into her. If I were a man, I'd probably have a hard time not glancing at her myself."
It seemed like fate had treated Skylar far too kindly, giving her such an alluring face. Rosa couldn't shake the feeling that Skylar was trying to seduce Ned, to steal him from her.
Not knowing what Ned was thinking only added to her insecurity, making her want to confirm that Skylar hadn't succeeded in bewitching him. Ned's expression darkened suddenly.
Seeing his lack of response, Rosa pressed on, refusing to give up. "Just tell me if she tries to seduce you, would you sleep with her?"
She rarely lost her composure like this in front of Ned, but today she couldn't help it.
Skylar was just someone who had crossed paths with them a few times since arriving in Jipsburg. Their encounters had been nothing more than coincidences. But for some reason, Rosa couldn't shake the feeling that Skylar might take Ned from her.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
Ned finally gave his answer. "Yes."
Rosa's face turned pale, and she looked at Ned with a mix of hurt and disbelief. "Ned..."
"You're overthinking it. She won't try to get into my bed," Ned said in a low, firm voice. Even though he had only met Skylar a few times, his instincts told him that wouldn't happen.
