Vera’s expression darkened as the implications settled in. Joe and Lizzie had just announced their engagement during the day, and now Lizzie was at the Galaxy Villa. The two seemed to share an unusual chemistry.
She thought Lizzie was being too flirtatious. It felt improper to come here and perform for Joe right after their engagement.
The turmoil of emotions inside Vera was overwhelming, filled with jealousy and confusion.
No wonder Joe hadn’t been answering her calls. He was too busy enjoying a private moment with Lizzie in the villa.
She had searched extensively online for information about Lizzie and even enlisted Justin’s help, yet Lizzie appeared to have emerged from nowhere.
Moreover, her romantic life seemed as clean and blank as a fresh slate, with no scandals attached to her
name.
“Joe had been hiding her all this time, and only now has he decided to announce it. Does he really care so much about Lizzie? What about his previous attentiveness to Skylar? Was it all just a façade?” Vera felt trapped in a confusing loop, struggling to make sense of it all.
All that remained was a simmering jealousy. She bit her lip in frustration and finally decided to call Paul. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
“Paul, when did Joe and Lizzie first meet?” she inquired, her tone carrying an air of superiority, asserting her status.
Paul replied, “That’s a private matter for Mr. Martin, and I can’t disclose it.”
Vera frowned. “You’re right. It is indeed his private matter. But you know my relationship with Joe. This can’t be shared with anyone else, so why can’t you at least tell me?”
“I’m sorry, Ms. Ruell. But if you want to know anything, you can ask Mr. Martin directly. I can’t disclose that information. I’m currently working overtime and have other matters to attend to. Goodbye.” Paul’s response was cold as he hung up the phone.
Vera listened to the dial tone, her expression darkening further. Paul dared treat her this way, even though she had called him out of courtesy.
Yet he, an ordinary employee, had dismissed her so casually. She never imagined that she would experience society’s coldness firsthand. Today, she finally understood.
After seeing the news, she was sure plenty of people were eager to mock her. But she would make them understand just how wrong it was to laugh at her today!
Raising her head, she glanced at the Galaxy Villa.
The sound of the violin had stopped. The villa was illuminated under the moonlight, casting an enchanting glow.
Véra stepped back, got into her car, and drove away reluctantly.
Ten minutes later, Lizzie exited the Galaxy Villa with her violin in hand. As she left, she successfully followed Skylar on Instagram.
However, just as Lizzie finished putting her violin away and settled into her car, ready to start the engine, Joe sent her a message on WhatsApp.

“Unfollow Skylar.”
Lizzie let out a light laugh. “I never expected the formidable Mr. Martin, who seems so intimidating, to be such a jealous man.”
With a quick reply, she texted back, “I’m not unfollowing her. She said she enjoys seeing my music shares on Instagram. You really don’t need to worry about it. Be a little more confident. After all, I’m your fiancée.”
After sending the message, she tossed her phone onto the passenger seat and stepped on the gas, driving away quickly.
The next day, Skylar moved out of the Galaxy Villa. Since she had publicly announced her separation from Joe, it was only natural that she couldn’t continue living there.
