Mummy, Daddy is on his knees

Kelvin returned back to the living room and sat next to the lady with a smile like he had known her for a very long time..

“So? are you gonna introduce yourself or what?” Bianca murmured impatiently which earned a nudge from Olivia..

“Mummy, she is my friend, she took me to the police station today when I got lost”

Olivia’s lips rounded, she wasn’t really expecting that.

“Oh.. thanks for your help miss.. by the way I’m Olivia Parker, his mum”

The smile on Olivia’s face froze, just how many more Sterling’s could she handle? don’t they have anything else to do other than to ring her doorbell every now and then?

Sandy intervened before Olivia or Bianca could say any more words..

Becky took a glance at Kelvin who was by her side, he looked a lot like her older cousin brother no doubt..

“I’m sorry that I dropped by unannounced, I just wanted to confirm that the little boy I saw today got back home to his parents safely” Becky clarified and rose up to her feet..

Olivia followed suite only to be engulfed into a tight embrace by Becky which left her almost gasping for air…

Olivia breathed out in relief when she was released from the embrace, she touched her chest, for a second there, she thought she was going to pass out from that deadly embrace..

“Bye Kelvin” she bade Kelvin goodbye and walked out through the door..

The four of them stared at the closed door trying to understand what just happened minutes ago.

“She is trouble” Bianca whispered softly beneath her breath..

The next morning..

The city rocked back and forth with silence as everyone carried on with their daily lives, everywhere seemed peaceful until….

“Achoooo!!!”

A fleet of birds sitting idly on the roof flapped their wings and flew off in a swift..

Bianca and Sandy exchanged glances at the dining table..

“Oh no! mummy is down with a fever again” Kelvin cried out.

Bianca sprang up to her feet and pulled Kelvin up with her, she needed to get out of here as fast as possible before Olivia gets down..

“Umm.. aunt! I’ll drop Kelvin off and go visit my mum after that”

Before Sandy could speak, the two already bolted out of the room leaving her alone..

“Cowards!” she called after them..

Sandy sighed and stood up to her feet, Olivia’s fever was extraordinary, she gets cranky and bossy and almost insatiable and if one wasn’t careful she could hurl a knife at you..

She sighed in relief when the doorbell rang, without wasting any much time, she scurried to the door and pulled it open..

“You!”

Damien felt himself being pulled in by the older woman, he almost lost his balance but regained his stance afterwards..

He ate back his words after a thunderous sneeze rocked the apartment, his face scrunched as he met Sandy’s weird smile..

“It’s good that you’re here Damien.. Olivia was just asking about you, I need to rush to the mall to get a few things, please go on in and take your time”

Damien opened his mouth to speak and like a flash, she bolted out of the house without giving him a chance to argue..

“Everyone seems to be in a hurry”

Olivia stared at her disheveled appearance in front of her mirror, her hair was all tangled up into a glorious mess, while her nose was red like a monkey’s butt..

All in all she looked like a lost puppy found in a cow’s dump..

“I knew I shouldn’t have taken that cold dip in the tub! I fell asleep in it!” She groggily scolded herself, heavens knew how much she hated herself anytime she had a fever..

This meant she won’t be able to make it to work today, she picked up her phone from the dresser ready to call her boss..

“I doubt if he’d give me a day off.. arrogant brat!”

She raised her phone to her ear and was startled when his ringtone reached her ears..

Her eyes rounded in shock when she saw him through the mirror standing behind her with his phone in his hand..

Bianca baded Kelvin and Kiara goodbye as they both walked into the school gates, she turned to Jonah who had a faint blush on his cheeks..

“I never knew men blush too” Bianca remarked teasingly.

“What? no! I’m just a little bit excited nothing much..”

Bianca arched a brow not fully convinced, she had a hunch it had something to do with Kiara’s teacher..

She had notice this quite a number of times whenever they drop the kids off..

Unbeknownst to them a car pulled over across the street watching them..

Olivia closed her eyes briefly, she knew this was her head messing with her but today she wasn’t going to let that happen..

She took hold of her lotion container, turning swiftly, she hurled it at him..

“Take that!”

“Have you lost your mind?!” Damien barked rubbing his chest where the lotion landed..

Olivia was startled, he really was here, if that was the case..

She placed her palm over her face, she looked unpleasant right now and she was so sure Damien would make jest of her current state..
