Chapter 796 Crisis Melissa
Eugen walked out on the balcony to see a truckload of flowers at her front door.
"Are you bringing a flower shop to my house?" Melissa questioned.
Several nannies and workers from her home hurried out to help Jill move the flowers inside..
"Is Murray going to continue protecting you like a national treasure? You must be pregnant.""
Jill sighed downstairs.
"What are you muttering about? What are these flowers for?" Melissa asked after overhearing Jill.
"The store is too small to fit all these flowers, and I can’t put it in my house.Thinking of the size of your
house, I thought to bring them here. You have a shed in the back that I can use, right?" The shed was
more like a glass house.
It was a house specially repaired by Mr.Marc, and it was said to be for planting flowers; but after
Melissa moved in, she did not have the time or the know how to grow flowers, so it was never used.
"You can use it since I’m doing nothing with it," Melissa responded.
Jill took her hand and pulled her to sit down on the swing in the backyard, "Mrs.Gibson, there is one
more thing, I want you to help me."
Upon hearing Jill refer to her in this way, Melissa knew something was wrong.
"What is it?"
"You know that my flower shop is small, and I don’t want to live at home.Since all my flowers are here
with you, I should just live in the glasshouse.I won't be a bother and I can help you out from time to
time," Jill explained.
Melissa looked at her thoughtfully and said, "How can I let you live in a glasshouse? That's not a proper
place for someone to live.
Now, there is a two-story in-law suite behind the glasshouse.I originally wanted to suite for adult child,
but I have none , so you should live there first."
Originally, they thought when the child was born, they place and his own independent place when they
are college age.
"Really? Great, I knew you were the best." NôvelDrama.Org © content.
Melissa couldn't help laughing when she heard her praise.
"Mr.Gibson, the general manager of the branch is here." The secretary said solemnly.
Murray frowned.
Generally, branches were independent entities.
Only at the end of the year will they come over to make a summary.
Why did they come at this time?
"Let him in!"
The general manager of the branch was a person who Murray grew up, and he was very trustworthy.
"Mr.Gibson, it's not good, the stock market of the branch has collapsed." Manager Peter said as he
walked in.
Murray slapped the table and exclaimed, "How is that possible!"
"Although the branch's economy has always been stable, recent stock market indicators indicate a
recent decline.I assumed it to be a common occurrence.Still, I wasn't prepared for how rapid the
decrease would be in the stock market in a single month and how it would have an immediate impact
on the business's financial situation.Investors have asked to have their shares taken away because
they no longer want to take part."
Manager Peter explained on the brink of tears.
"That was news from a month ago! Why are you reporting this now?" Murray roared.
This branch was one of the most important things to him.
Although the annual income is not as good as the head office, the stock market has been maintained
very well, which is also his advantage.
"We wanted to wait and see for a while. We figured we could have a small decrease. The news has
been concealed internally."
Manager Peter wept bitterly, never expecting an excellent company to fall.
Murray glared at him, wondering how he could ever trust him again.
"Notify the company's high-level department, and gather for a meeting in five minutes!"
Murray ordered, "Send me all the economic summaries and stock market statuses of every branch to
me!"
Five minutes later, all the high-level officials gathered in the conference room.
As soon as Murray entered the door, he exuded a chilling aura.
"Due to the stock market crash of the branch in question, we will need to transfer a small part of our
company’s shares to the branch, and most importantly, we need to find out the specific reasons for the
crash," Murray said clearly.
"This is our priority. I expect daily updates.
Meeting adjourned.
"The high-level officials left the conference room to provide Murray with the requested
documentation. The news of Murray's tanking company could not be concealed.
With such high turbulence in the stock market, people would naturally pay attention, and the
information about the branch suddenly trended.
"Mr.Gibson, there are a lot of reporters around downstairs, and they want to see you!"
The secretary hurried up to tell him before Murray left the conference room.
Murray stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down at the significant number of people
at the company's gate.He knew it was the paparazzi.
There was no way to run from them, and he didn't need them coming to his home, stressing out
Melissa. He would go straight to them and answer their questions.
Melissa took the elevator downstairs and walked out to meet the crowd.
Security opened the way to make way for Murray.
"Mr.Gibson, the branch has made such a big mistake.Do you have anything to say?"
"Mr.Gibson, the stock market fell sharply, and all shareholders need an explanation."
These reporters are pervasive, one question after another.
Murray cleared his throat and told them, "Everyone, we all know about your concerns, and I believe the
Gibson Corporation will give you a satisfactory answer once we have investigated the situation.
Please be patient.
"Then, Murray turned and walked back inside.
"Mr.Gibson, what should I do now?" The secretary asked anxiously.
"Where's Manager Peter?"
"It hasn't come yet."
The flowers were unloaded for the whole morning, and they were finally finished.
Jill was also tired and sweaty. She sat limply on the sofa, shaking her hands, "I won't do this kind of
physical work again.I will make sure to hire someone for this."
"Oh yeah, I am exhausted," Melissa responded.
Glancing at the time on the clock, she noticed that it was past the time Murry would usually be home,
and Murray had not returned.
Melissa unlocked her cell phone to call Murray when she received a notification from Twitter.
There was a tweet on a news profile about the Gibson Corporation.
What now? she thought as she clicked on the notification.
Melissa read the news report and frowned. She shoved her phone in her pocket and quickly left.
"Where are you going?"
Jill shouted from behind.
"Something happened with Murray's company.I need to go to him,"
Melissa didn’t care about calling the driver, so she drove to the company by herself.
The crowd of reporters at the entrance of Gibson Corporation was reduced to a handful, and they were
still watching and updating.
Melissa drove her car into the garage and went up from the elevator in the basement.
As soon as she got on the elevator, she saw a familiar face, and Melissa quickly found a place to hide.
