Chapter 61 Slapped
The room fell silent.
Time ticked by. Matthew was busy with more immediate work when he found that Blanca was asleep.
She slumped on the tea table, her long lashes leaving a thin shadow below her eyes. He tried so hard to hold back his desire to touch her baby-like porcelain skin. Not some once-in-a-century beauty, but still easy on the eye…
Matthew went into a daze as he looked at her.
His gaze fell on the pendant she had. That necklace… if she really was that person’s relative, then, they really were meant to be.
There came a sudden buzz on his phone. Matthew hurriedly snatched it up and turned the volume down before he even knew he’d subconsciously done that.
He went into the lounge at the side of the office to take the call. At that moment, the office door was suddenly pushed open.
“Miss Harris, Miss Harris you can’t go in… sorry to wake you, madam.”
Curtis saw Blanca stir groggily on the sofa and groaned.
“It’s fine, and this is…”
Blanca rubbed her eyes. When she saw the slick black suit on her, Elizabeth Harris’ face darkened. She was wearing Matthew’s suit!Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
In almost an instant, Elizabeth had stormed over and slapped Blanca crisply across the face.
“You little bitch, sleeping in Matthew’s office, wearing his clothes, I…” Elizabeth snapped and was about to strike again when she saw Blanca’s face. She was in shock. “Why is it you again?”
“What’s your problem?”
Her cheek smarted. Elizabeth hadn’t held back at all.
Blanca had been through a lot as a kid, but that didn’t mean she was just going to lie down and take it.
Besides, who did this woman think she was?
Elizabeth raised her arm and was clearly about to slap her again when someone grabbed her wrist.
“Matthew!”
“Don’t get so intimate with me.” Matthew’s jaw was tight. His father had called and said Elizabeth was back in the country, and that the Harris family was getting a welcome feast ready, inviting them there. The call had just been to notify him.
With her wrist thrown off, Elizabeth clutched at it and took two steps back.
Matthew was already bending heartfeltly over Blanca’s bruise, sympathy written all over his face. His slender fingers stroked her face, but Blanca avoided them.
“Does it hurt?”
“…” What the hell did you think?
Blanca felt like he was talking nonsense. The corner of her mouth twitched and she didn’t talk. She just looked pitiably at Matthew, who showed his husbandly aura again as he looked at Elizabeth. “Apologize!”
“No! Why should I apologize? If she hadn’t seduced you, you wouldn’t have married her!”
“Oh?” Matthew sneered, rage in his dark eyes. He suddenly took Blanca’s face in his hands and kissed her expressively.
It was a warm touch of a kiss. He’d only just come into contact with her lips when he parted from it like it was some rare treasure. After that, with a satisfied expression on his face, he said, “See that? I fell for her first. If you make her angry, I’m the one who has to pamper her.”
