Chapter 44 A Ridiculously Edited Video
“Ack!”
Before the doorway of the Empire Group Building, Kylie was thrown to the ground hard, and she spat out insults without caring for her image. “Why are you so rude? Is it how you treat guests at the Empire Group? You lackeys…”
“Enough. Are you okay, Kylie?”
Mary ran over in a panic. She’d grown up in the same place as Kylie, but she’d never thought that Kylie bore a grudge with Blanca.
Kylie’s eyes showed a viper’s venom and she pushed Mary’s proffered hand away.
“Don’t touch me!”
“Kylie…”
Mary murmured, her voice low, a tinge of contempt flashing through her eyes. Kylie had always acted like hot shit from growing up. She’d always held her head up high before her friends, especially after marrying Todd Small. Apparently, the man was some small manager in a company, and had bought a tiny apartment in Oakshire, which made them even more jealous.
“Damn Blanca, she really thinks she’s something. Isn’t she just some bitch? Todd didn’t even take her seriously back then!” Kylie struggled to her feet. Security had gone back and only Mary was left at her side.
“Really? She’s the beansprout you mentioned before? Do you have a grudge against her, Blanca?”
Mary deliberately took Blanca’s elbow and lowered her voice. “It doesn’t take a genius to see that Blanca’s a shady character. She even bullied you in public. We can’t let her off!”
“Wha?”
“Oh right, you forgot. I told you that I got bullied by a delivery girl last time. That’s the one…”
The two were a match for each other, but having come out with Lisa, Blanca didn’t know about it. Lisa escorted her downstairs and said respectfully. “Madam, you don’t have to take meals here every day. We’ve always handled those little things in house.”
There was meaning behind Lisa’s words and Blanca raised an eyebrow.
“It’s fine. I’ve got free time and I can just come by.” It wasn’t that she couldn’t hear what Lisa meant, but she didn’t say anything about it. She said goodbye, then ducked into the car.
Curtis had the driver start the car right away. Looking at the Empire Group building recede into the distance, Lisa stroked her chin deviously.
No wonder Matthew had said she could shield him from suitors. From this half a month, it was clear that there actually were a lot of suitors around him…
Really, they were all just employees. Did they want to fly up the rungs this way?
No self-awareness at all.
Not like her. She was just thinking of a moment to get something out of Matthew and go their separate ways.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
“Madam… Madam?”
“Huh?”
Blanca was deep in her own thoughts and didn’t hear Curtis call for her at all. Turning around, she saw Curtis looking at her with a stressed expression, kinda like he was constipated.
Her lips twitched. “What is it?”
“Uh… they’re suddenly showing news about you.” Curtis wiped the sweat off his brow and handed a phone over to Blanca. Blanca took the phone dubiously. She wasn’t some media star, so why was there news of her?
She’d forgotten that even if she wasn’t a star, Matthew was a hot topic in Oakshire!
Blanca looked at the news and her face darkened further and further. Who the heck did this?!
“Madam, let’s leave this to the chairman,” Curtis said awkwardly.
