“You are lying, Ava! ” She uttered with a cold voice. Goosebumps, fear, and adrenaline scrambled down my body.

My breath twitched as I inhaled and exhale heavily. My mind, body, and brain became shut out. I wasn’t aware I was shaking my head continuously. Water rushed to the corner of my eyes and she touched my lap and I realized I wasn’t with her anymore.

“What happened, Ava? ” She asked as she eventually sat beside me.

“It’s not but mine. I shouldn’t have followed him, I should have kept myself from strangers. ” I muttered and turned my face away.

“That’s your fault in that aspect Ava, but it’s my fault in the aspect of keeping things from you. It’s my fault he had a chance to get close to you. Speculating I told you about my past and stepbrother. You won’t want to get close to him. ” She explained sincerely, her explanation made me have second impressions.

Truly, It’s her fault in that aspect. I swerve my gaze elsewhere. I think she should explain everything that happened in the past. Her explanation will make me think of what to do to Lucky when I see him next.

She cleared her throat and I looked forward to seeing and hearing what she was going to do.

“Of course, I promise. ” I whispered with my eyes on hers as I placed my hand on hers. It’s apparent, I’m not gonna move with that son of a bitch. He said he did an investigation on me and found out I’m adopted by his step-sister. Yet! He still when ahead to fuck my pussy. That’s so heroic of him.

“The Darius family is always peaceful, and happy and there is a flow of wealth, health and love in the family. My family consists of my mum, dad and my younger brother. So my dad continues the business of travelling around, going here and there. We were still a peaceful and happy family. But, an unfaithful day came and the once peaceful family got upside down when dad brought in his new mistress, saying it was a mistake.

“A mistake? ” I exclaimed and she nodded as tears streamed down her cheeks.

My dad’s mistress had a son with her ex-husband, she was once a single mum but got pregnant for my dad. My mum could get on the news, the sudden news took a toll on her. She kept on getting sick frequently and my dad wasn’t paying attention to her again like before. The beautiful family went wrong.

Lucky and I started going to school together, he was famous for being the bad boy and the sex freak in school. Though is very friendly, he helps my younger brother out during sports and academics. He got close to me and I don’t like the influence he was having on my younger brother so I tried to talk to my younger brother about luck.

“As usual, my dad came home from his business trip, everything was fine for a month he stayed with us. He talked about taking my younger son with him for a boy youth academic stuff. Lucky mum became furious about it. She was furious that my dad didn’t take Lucky with him. After explaining why he didn’t, she reasoned because my younger brother was that sharp with academics unlike Lucky and me. So they went back the following month. ” She paused for a while.

“You share the same age with Lucky? ” I asked.

“No, he’s older than me by just two years, I’m twenty-five presently and he’s twenty-seven. ” She mumbled and took a deep breath.

“What’s your brother’s name? ” I asked and she smiled.

“Nathaniel. ” She mumbled and tears streamed down her cheeks.

“This is the first time I’m seeing Madam Nada in tears. She looks pained and that’s because of Lucky’s mom that ruined the family. ” I thought and pulled her for a warm hug.

She sobbed on my shoulder for a while I found myself sobbing also. She paused and pulled away quickly.

“It’s fine. That’s why you adopted me. ” I mumbled with a low voice.

“I should continue. ” She mumbled and sniffed in.

“Nathaniel was accomplishing his dream with my dad. But it all went wrong when he said he was coming home with dad, he complained about being bored and everyone agreed they should come back and spend some time with us.

While we were waiting, we saw the national news of my plane crash. They identified everyone on the plane and it happened to be the same plane my dad and younger brother took. ” She uttered with a breaking voice.

A light gasp escaped my lips.

“I shouldn’t have let her explain everything to me. ” I thought and wiped my tears.
