Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 415

Before Margot could reach Selena, Bill stepped in, blocking her path with a firm hand.

Margot's face was a picture of fury, and she practically shouted, "Are you blind? Do you even know who I am? How dare you, a nobody, try to stop me! You think you're all that?"

Bill's expression barely changed; he simply stood his ground, doing his job by keeping her at bay.

Margot's anger only intensified. Bill was Everett's right-hand man, and now he was playing bodyguard for Selena? They couldn't even go to a mall without a nanny and muscle in tow. All this just to flaunt her status as Mrs. Bennett? Sickening.

Ava had heard about Margot, but seeing her in person was something else. Sure, she was pretty enough to play the mistress role, all sharp words and no class. That artsy image on TV? All smoke and mirrors!RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Ava had long despised Margot and was quick to fire back, hands on hips, "Nobody's blind here. We all see you're just a shameless homewrecker, strutting around like you own the place. Back in the day, someone like you would've been tossed in a pigsty!" "You... you're just a nanny! Who said you could speak?"

If it weren't for Bill blocking her, Margot might've gone for Ava right then.

Ava laughed, "Oh please, if a mistress like you can speak, I sure can too. I'm old enough to be your mother. Since your parents didn't raise you right, let me give it a shot!"

"You're young and instead of doing something productive, you're busy stealing husbands and trashing marriages. And you call yourself a star? Spare the kids and stay out of sight. Our Mrs. Bennett is too gracious to deal with you, but don't test her patience!" Ava had the freedom to say what Selena couldn't, and she took full advantage, letting Margot have it with a few choice words from her hometown dialect.

Margot, though sharp-tongued, prided herself on her composure. Faced with Ava's barrage, she was left shaking with rage, her face a deep shade of green.

Onlookers began to gather, whispering among themselves, eager for the spectacle.

Margot was conscious of her image and couldn't let the "mistress" label stick. She quickly pulled out a pair of oversized sunglasses, almost hiding her entire face, leaving just her pointed chin visible.

Ever since Selena had provoked her over the phone, Margot had been unable to pin down Everett. Every call to Alex was met with the same excuses busy. How long was this "busy" supposed to last? Was it just a brush-off?

The thought of Everett spending months abroad with Selena, leaving her behind, was unbearable. She refused to sit idle, so she'd been loitering around Moon Bay, waiting for a chance.

Finally seeing Selena out and about, she followed her, determined to show who Everett really loved and to push Selena out of the picture.

Margot tilted her chin defiantly, shooting a cold glare at Selena. "Hiding behind your bodyguard and nanny, Selena? Why not face me head-on? You talked big on the phone!"

Ava was ready to jump in, but Selena gently stopped her with a shake of her head. "Ava, it's alright."

Then, with a calm demeanor, Selena looked at Margot and smiled slightly. "You treated me to coffee last time; let me return the favor."

In the café, Selena and Margot faced each other. With the place cleared, it was just the two of them, while Ava and Bill waited outside.

From Ava's vantage point, she could only catch glimpses of their profiles, filled with worry and confusion. Why entertain Margot's antics? Bill could have easily handled it.

Bill remained vigilant, ready to step in if needed.

Meanwhile, at Bennett Corporation,

in the conference room, Everett

lounged back in his leather chair,

legs crossed, tapping his fingernet

lightly on the table. He listened to reports, cutting to the chase with his sharp questions.

Suddenly, the door flew open. Alex, usually the epitome of calm, burst in, her face uncharacteristically panicked.

Everett frowned, clearly annoyed.

But Alex was too urgent to care, striding over in her heels to whisper anxiously in his ear, "Mr. Everett, there's trouble. Something's happened to Mrs. Bennett!"
