Chapter 27 Following the Voice

Kendra left again with no job. "Why life is so hard and unfair? I have been so nice that I could possible be to the people around me especially to my parents and siblings. I only wanted to fulfill my dreams and goals and live with it. I thought life would be easy for me when I started to be independent. I thought I would be living happily, and freely." Kendra continued crying until she got tired and fell asleep. A strong voice from no where kept saying to Kendra "Be always kind and have the courage, it will save you from the trials that life will bring to you. Get up Kendra and walk around outside then you will find the solution of your problem." Kendra suddenly woke up,"Where is that voice coming?" She looked out around her room. She got out her bed and went to the bathroom. The water continued flowing so fast and she washed her face. She look at herself on the mirror. A strong voice again, as she clearly remembered what she heard. "Be always kind and have the courage, and I will save from the trials that life may bring me? Walk around outside and I may find the solution of my problem?"Kendra kept saying it to herself again and again. Her hair on her hands stood up. She literally did not even want to ignore the voice. She felt that there was something that she needed her to follow it, so she did follow the voice. She would still do her best to be always kind and have the courage for the sake of her own dreams and goals."I dont want to give up no matter what. I will just go with the flow of life and be flexible. There is nothing gonna happen in my life if I would only cry inside my room." Kendra rushingly prepared herself. She wore a black business attire and tied her hair with determination and motivation. She took her folder with her resume inside, left her apartment and started to walk around the street. She walked so long and she began to get exhausted. She saw a convenient store. She went inside the store and bought something to eat."I wanted this and that.. I love sweets. Oh my God the bread that is my favorite." Kendra was having a happy moment on the foods she saw and took."Excuse me, Are you going to buy or not? If you are not going to buy then could you please move a little because I wanted to get something there. You are blocking my way." A tall, dark, handsome, with a mustache on his face wearing a long dark blue polo arrogantly popped up to Kendra's face. When Kendra saw him, she pretendly smile and gave him way to get his item and started walking to the cashier."Arrogant pig!You are handsome but acting like a woman. Oh, Kendra.. looked at Kendra, " Are you saying something?" Kendra looked at the man and saw the man looking at him with a serious face so she turned her eyes up," Hmmm.. No..I am not saying anything. I am just talking to myself." Kendra was at the cashier and took the change to the cashier boy. She left the convenient store fastly. She again started to walk around the convenient store while eating her favorite bread. She was so hungry to death. She walked more then saw a travel agency and with a post that needed a staff."I think today is my lucky day. Any job as long as it is decent and legal. My dream job and goals please forgive me as I have to set aside your for the mean time. I just needed this job right now so that I can survive and pay my bills!I cant believe this.. Is the posted job true? I cant even pronounce the name of the agency. What is this kind of language?" Kendra ignored the name of the travel agency and push the glass door." Good Morning, How may I help you?" A driver named Eric, a very thin guy wearing a casual clothes asked Kendra what she wanted." I saw this post. I am looking for a job and I want to apply." Are you willing to wait?" Kendra looked at her watched. She didnt have any choice because she needed a job right away." YES! Kendra's phone was ringing, her mother was calling."Excuse me Eric, I have a call to take." Kendra's mother was still the same so controlling, impatient, unreasonable and demanding. If her mother could not get what she asked for, she definitely threw a lot of bad, negative, rude and judgemental words. Kendra's ears were totally irritated. She didnt even expect that her simple act of kindness in the past by giving them a little of her salary would turn into an obligation. She was forced by her mother to pay for the rent of their house even if she was not living there anymore. She became a breadwinner. Kendra's parents and siblings were too dependent to her. She didnt want problems to think so she just ignored it. I will be talking to Ms. Kendra for a few minutes inside my office." Both were stop talking."I thought you are the boss. You acted so authoritative and still an arrogant pig." Kendra was so annoyedly left Gabrielle where both stood up. Gabrielle was continously looking at Kendra with a smile.
