Mated to my sister’s ugly mate

“Alpha Dominic,” growled with a low, rumbling voice as he snatched the document from Shadow’s hands. “Don’t you have any clue about what you’re studying?”

Shadow, a newcomer in the Lances family, recalled that they had thoroughly investigated her before their marriage. They already knew her academic major, which had nothing to do with business.

Alpha Dominic swiftly skimmed through the document, his eyebrows furrowing slightly before setting it aside.

Puzzled, Shadow asked, “What’s the matter?”

Alpha Dominic looked at her, his amber eyes piercing, and replied, “This document is worthless. The other party won’t agree to this project.”

Just then, the plates of food were served. Alpha Kilian picked up his chopsticks and began eating.

Shadow glanced at the document with doubt, struggling to see what was wrong with it.

However, since she sought Alpha Dominic’s help, she decided to trust his judgment and refrained from asking further questions.

In the afternoon, Jessica brought a group of people to discuss the project.

The RTM Group, a medium-sized company in Herton Pack, arrived for the meeting. They held better prospects than the Eden Group.

The group entered the meeting room and soon, the project’s representative arrived.

The representative was a middle-aged woman, meticulously groomed and exuding a powerful aura. Her presence alone indicated she was a force to be reckoned with.

Jessica stood up and greeted her with arrogance. “Manager Doren, we meet again.”

Manager Doren glanced at her and nonchalantly took her seat, unfazed by Jessica’s tone. She spoke in a business-like manner, “As I mentioned before, if the Eden Group wants to collaborate on this project, they must show sincerity.”

Jessica smiled and turned to Shadow. “She is also the daughter of my father, the chairman of the Eden Group. This time, he sent both of us sisters to discuss the project. Isn’t that sincere enough?”

Manager Doren’s expression worsened as she looked at Shadow. She detested these types of connections and saw them as useless. Her dislike for Jessica had increased even more now that Shadow was involved.

“Apologies, but I have another meeting at three o’clock. Excuse me,” Manager Doren abruptly stood up and left the room.

Shadow finally understood why Alpha Dominic had warned her about discussing this project with the Eden Group.

Manager Doren appeared to be a formidable woman who clearly looked down on Jessica. Rather than facing her alone, Jessica tried to involve Shadow, making Manager Doren despise her even more.

Observing Manager Doren’s departure, Jessica turned to Shadow with a cold expression and scolded, “Dad values this project greatly. Now that you messed it up, let’s see how you explain it to him.”

Shadow, bewildered, wondered how she was to blame when she hadn’t said a word during Manager Doren’s visit. Jessica, however, tried to shift all the blame onto her.

Shadow turned her gaze towards the two individuals accompanying her. As they sensed her stare, they quickly averted their eyes, clearly aligning with Jessica.

“What are you standing there for? Still hoping Manager Doren will come back?” Jessica sneered, looking down on Shadow, before arrogantly leaving the room.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Reluctantly, Shadow followed her out.

She thought Jessica was simply foolish, willing to sabotage such an important project for the Eden Group just to undermine her.

Jessica was spoiled and lived a life of luxury not thanks to the Eden Group, but because she considered company projects as mere child’s play.

If this continued, the fate of the Eden Group would be doomed.

Upon returning to the Eden Group, Jessica summoned Shadow to Jason’s office.

Jason had just concluded a meeting and returned, spotting both of them present. He inquired, “You two went to discuss the project today. How did it go?”

Jessica bit her lip, her eyes slightly red, and apologized, “Dad, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have let Shadow accompany me for the discussion on the RTM project.”

Before she could finish, Jason interrupted with anger etched on his face. “RTM? Who told you to bring up the cooperation project with RTM?”

He knew his daughter well. Understanding that Jessica lacked negotiation skills, he had planned to approach the project from a long-term perspective and involve someone more suitable.

“It was Shadow who wanted to prove herself and handle a significant project. When she asked, I couldn’t refuse and took her along to discuss the RTM project,” Jessica explained, her words replete with loopholes.

Jason adored his daughter, even if he knew she was lying, he would only vent his anger towards Shadow.

“Shadow! I transferred you to the project department for learning, not to pull Jessica down and ruin the company’s projects!” Jason’s face turned dark, as if he wanted to strike Shadow.

Shadow, with a cold gaze, stared at the father-daughter duo and sneered, “Do I really need to bring Jessica down? She’s like a broken leg, completely useless! Ask yourself, how many projects has she negotiated successfully since joining the Eden Group, and how many has she ruined?”

“Shadow, what nonsense are you spouting!? The company has numerous projects every year. I’ve brought in teams and worked diligently on them!” Jessica shook her head, pain evident on her face. “I’ve devoted myself wholeheartedly to the company. Can’t you see that?”

Shadow’s eyes showed a smile that didn’t reach her heart. “Of course, your dedication is unquestionable.”
