Let The Next Day Determine
The next day
“Axel, this is not worth it”The Alpha shook his head but Axel gave no response as he continued punching the hard punching bag in front of him.
“How could you bet your life on this?” The Alpha questioned and Axel groaned.
“You all could let go of Hazel easily because she means nothing to any of you but she means so much to me.” Axel groaned.
“She is just a girl you loved teasing many years ago, nothing else, right?”
“No. She is not just a girl I love teasing. She is a girl I am willing to love and willing to wait for her to love me too”This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
“I knew this was going to be the case.” The Alpha shook his head.
“But still, Axel…. If you lose this duel, you are going to be killed and Hazel would not be saved too.”
“I do not care about my own life or death but Hazel… I am going to get her back” he turned back towards the punching bag and continued punching it.
The Alpha sighed heavily.
“Fine. I will believe you. You are not allowed to lose, you are not allowed to lose your life to him, okay?”
“I won’t. Losing is something that I can no longer stand.”
“Alpha Damien has sent the venue for the duel. It would be in his pack and all other Alphas have been invited.”
“Much more better because I plan on taking something else from him too” Axel bit hard on his lips.
“Something else? What is that?”
“His most prized possession.”
“What… The moon stone?”
“Exactly. I will not only be taking Hazel away from him, I will take the moon stone away from his pack.”
*
Hazel curled up on the huge bed that she had been given to lay on.
She was being fed and she was being clothed too here but she could just not stand the place. She badly wanted to go back to the dark wolf pack.
The door opened and Alpha Damien walked into the room. She quickly sat up on the bed, hugging her knees to her chest.
“You do not have to be this scared of me for now.”
Hazel noted his last two words.
“You are not fully mine for now until I kill Axel tomorrow. Once I get rid of him, then you might have to worry a little bit about what I might want to do to your body.” He grinned at her.
Hazel felt her insides churn with disgust as he talked about her body and tjr death od Axel.
“Axel is not going to die. He is not going to”
“You seem to believe in him so much, is he your lover?” Damien questioned.
“He is…. He is not but he is better than the one I call a lover” She responded and Damien reached his hands out..
Hazel pulled backwards to avoid his touches but he pulled her towards him forcefully and caressed her face.
Her face scrunched up as she wriggled in his arms.
“Let go of me” she cried out.
“You would not have to worry about the one you call a lover and you would not have ti worry about Axel either. Very soon, the only man you would have to care about would be me” he grinned at her.
“I won’t! Axel is going to take me away” her confidence in him seemed to grow with every second.
The fact that he was not just a random wolf but an Alpha wolf increased and boosted her confidence in Axel. Thinking about it closely, he had always protected her right from little, he had overdid it a lot of times but as long as he was present, no one ever got a chance to hurt her.
“Axel is… He is going to come for me and he is not going to die in your hands as you think.”
“What is the reason behind your confidence? Is there something behind Axel that you know? He has some powers that I do not know of?” Damien questioned, suspecting that the confidence of Hazel was built on something.
Hazel gulped down hard and shook her head in a negative response.
“There is nothing”
Damien’s hands caressed her cheeks and he suddenly grabbed her cheeks tightly causing her to wince in pains.
“Tell me what you know” Damien demanded, his burning eyes staring intently into her glassy eyes.
“There… There is nothing with him but he will save me… Like always”
Damien let go of her causing her to fall back into the bed.
“Like always? I am not like the others he has been saving you from. I am Alpha Damien and little wolves like him aspiring to become an Alpha cannot be a match for me so stop dreaming and instead prepare your mind to watch him bleed to death.”
“Even a true Alpha has died in my hands before not to talk of Axel”
Hazel gasped quietly.
Damien turned away and Hazel watched him walk out of the room. She let out the breath she had never even realized that she was holding.
Her hand clutched her chest as she wiped her tears away.
“He is not going to die.” She assured herself.
The last words of Damien had put a little bit of fear into her heart and she thought about it deeply. What if Axel was really defeated? Axel would lose his life…. Because of her?
Hazel buried her face in her sheets, regretting it for the thousandth time that she had went with Rex that night. She had brought herself into this predicament and she had brought Axel into it too.
The more she thought about it, the more her fear increased. Alpha Damien was too dangerous to be toyed with.
Hazel wished she could come in contact with Axel and tell him not to come for the duel.
The last thing she wanted was him losing his life just to save her from the situation that she had brought upon herself.
But there was no way for her to reach him or anyone else. There was no way she could stop him from coming over for the duel anymore.
“Moon Goddess, you have always been against me. Please this time around, make Axel win. Just this time, save his life. Let him survive this.” she pleaded.
She would have denied it if she had ever been told that a day would come when she would hope for victory for Axel but then she would have denied it too if she had ever been told that a day would come that he would willingly put his life at risk just for her.
She could not deny it, a lot of things had changed since he came back but if the changes were good or bad, the next day would determine.
