Mated To My Alpha Brother

Chapter 31

Chapter thirty one

Amelia walked into the meeting room where Lian was waiting. It took her a while before she could settle on a sofa opposite him, because of her regalia.

“You asked of me.” She went straight to the point, maintaining eye contact with him.

“Yes. I need your help.”

“On what?”

“I’m going against Giovanni and I need you and your men to Ally with me.”

“That old rogue?” She arched a brow in a dramatic way.

Lian nodded gently. “Yes.” Amelia stared at him for a while, thinking.

“What do I get in return?” She demanded firmly.

Lian motioned to a soldier he brought with him. The man came forward and placed a briefcase on the table between the two alphas, then opened it and turned it to Amelia.

“Gold bars and diamonds. Just brought this to show you. I’ll give you more.” Lian responded wittily.

Amelia stared at the diamonds for a minute and then burst into laughter. “This is a really enticing offer. I would’ve loved to take it but… I’m not interested in forming an alliance with you and your pack.” She declared rudely and stood up to leave.

Lian clenched his fist and struck the table angrily. “My pack is about to get wiped out! And you’re refusing a treaty!” He yelled. Green veins popped out of his temple and neck.

Amelia halted and turned to him. “It’s your business, alpha. So don’t drag me into it and deal with it yourself.” She verbalized calmly.

“My gift will get delivered, alright?” Mia nodded and smiled. “Alright. Stay safe.” She replied and kissed him on the cheek.

“Make sure you come to the pack, okay? I’m gonna miss you.” She whined and Lian forced a smile.

“Alright. I will. Now, go in.”

“Happy birthday!!!” Mia suddenly heard voices wish She turned around and a party streamer was popped in her face, stunning her. She saw her friends, colleagues and the pack members holding up balloons and happy birthday banners. Jabi, Axel and Annie were in front. Jabi was carrying a cake.

She was astounded. “Guys!” She cried happily. She started receiving wishes here and there. Annie suddenly came in front. “Happy birthday Mia.” She wished, smiling very broadly.

Mia thanked her with a smile that never left her face, she was very happy indeed.

“So…” Annie started. “We prepared something huge to celebrate you tonight.”

Mia furrowed her brows. “What’s that?” Jabi suddenly grabbed her hand. “Come get ready. It’s a surprise.”

Lian was on his way to Samara’s castle when a call came in on his phone. Checking the caller ID, it was Amelia. He creased his brows and wondered why she was calling him after she stated firmly the other day that she wasn’t going to help him and his pack.

He placed the call on his left ear after accepting it and controlled the steering wheel with his other hand.

“Alpha Lian, let’s meet.” Amelia said. She sounded quite serious and he wondered once more why she asked to meet. Perhaps she changed her mind?

“Where?”

Lian made a dangerous U turn on the deserted road and headed straight to Amelia’s packhouse.

A lot of things were going on his mind as he drove. His sister, his parents, his pack, how to defeat Giovanni. As he drove into Amelia’s territory, he suddenly felt something heavy at the trunk of his car. Before he could do or see anything, the car already somersaulted. Lian hit his head roughly the wheel and blood trickled down his face. He coughed hard and tried to get hold of what happened.

He opened the door with all his strength and crawled out, grunting in pain. Being a werewolf, an alpha at that, he had some energy left. He struggled to stand on his feet but ended up falling. He then saw some men walking towards him, laughing hysterically and wickedly. Lian closed his eyes and opened them again, his system was about to shut down. He strived hard to keep his eyes opened but he blacked out few seconds later.

Mia stepped out in a short white cocktail dress that revealed her pretty legs. Jabi had given her a thorough makeover and she was looking as sweet as ever.

She was blindfolded and made to walk down to where she didn’t know of. After the blindfold was taken off, she didn’t see anything. It was thick dark. “Jabi? Annie? Are you guys playing pranks right now? Stop it please!” She cried out fearfully.

The lights suddenly went on and party streamers popped again. The spacious room was well decorated with coloured bulbs, chandeliers. There was a designated bar at a part of the room and her classmates surrounded her, all carrying glasses of wine.

“Here is the surprise!” Annie announced to her, smiling again. “We figured out you won’t be able to throw a party amidst all these perils so we decided to throw one for you in here.” Annie further explained.

Mia’s eyes became teary. “I love you so much guys…” She hugged her friends one after the other. She turned to Annie, Jabi and Axel. “What about the juniors? They must fuming right now.” She worried.

Axel laughed. “It’s the exact opposite. They are in the other hall, partying.”

“Alright everyone. Enough of the chats. Let’s start partying!!!”

“Yeah..” Others booed and a loud music started playing.

Everyone partnered themselves and started dancing to the tune.

Mia grabbed a glass of wine from the bar and walked unto the dance floor without a partner. Some guys offered to dance with her but she rejected them politely. Her mind drifted to Lian again.

She was lost for a while and no one noticed. They were all busy doing their stuffs. An arm suddenly gripped her wrist her turned her around, and she crashed into someone’s lips. Or maybe someone crashed into her lips.

She was gobsmacked!

The kiss lasted for a fleeting moment and the guy broke the kiss.

It was Alexander. He smiled. “Happy birthday darling.”

Mia was lost for words. It was unexpected. She couldn’t even forced a smile. She swallowed hard. Was she supposed to slap him for kissing her or smile at him for wishing her?

Someone suddenly barged into the party room. “Mia! Something came in for you!” The girl hollered on top of her voice and despite the loud music, Mia heard. She was grateful that someone had interrupted the moment she was unwantedly sharing with Alexander.

Everyone including Mia walked out to see what came in. And lo and behold, a brand new Lamborghini was parked outside. Mia was quite astonished. She walked slowly towards the car and opened the door, there was a box and two envelopes on the driver’s seat. She brought one out and opened it. It was from her parents.

She opened the envelope from her parents first. It was full of wishes. ‘We got you the little car as your to celebrate your 18th birthday. Happy birthday our loving daughter.’ Mia was quite moved but hurried ditched the envelope. Jabi caught it quick and read it out loud.

The others were full of hollers and celebratory screams. They were quite shocked too. A fucking Lamborghini for a eighteen year old!Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Mia hurriedly opened the box and brought out a jewelry box. She opened it and a smile appeared on her face. She needed no one to tell her it was from Lian. The tiny necklace had a moon shaped pendant that was made of diamond. After admiring it for several seconds, she opened the envelope he sent and took out a letter.

Her countenance changed after reading the letter. She felt a sudden lump in her throat and her hands shook. She started trembling all over as her grip tightened on the thick paper.

“No.. No… No!!!!!” She screamed and Lamborghini’s window glass and wind screen shattered. She sent quite the shock to her friends.

Jabi stepped forward. “Mia what’s the issue?”

Mia ignored her and screamed once more, this time more louder. The buildings’ window started shattering one after the other. Her eyes colour turned into bright emerald green which shone on the paper she held.

Everyone screamed in fear and some ran in immediately. Jabi and Axel became scared to near her and they moved back a bit. It started getting dark all of a sudden. Thick, dark clouds filled the sky. Mia felt like she had just been stabbed and tears flowed down her face uncontrollably. It started raining heavily and everyone ran in, leaving her outside. She made no attempt to leave the rain.

Thunder struck whenever she screamed and the more she cried, the more rain poured. Lian broke her heart. He broke his promise to her, defending himself with excuses. The note contained a breakup letter from him and as rain poured on it, the writings on it became smudged and eventually, the paper soaked and escaped from her hands.

She just started feeling happy, a few days ago and then it was taken away. She had just experienced what real life was but now, it seemed like her world was done and crumbling down. She fell to the floor and cried vigorously, screaming and hollering.

Alexander sprinted into the rain and grabbed her. “Come inside Mia.” He stated in a very strong tone.

Mia fought against him intensely. “Let go! Let go of me!” She kicked against him but he refused to let go.

She turned around to face him and yelled in a way that could deafen one. “I said leave me alone!”

Being a stubborn type, he refused to succumb to her order. After sustaining several kicks from her, he succeeded in dragging her in and Jabi led them into a quiet room. She demanded to be alone and no one protested.

She curled up at a corner in the room, looking all like a ghost. Her makeup was ruined and she was drenched from the downpour.

She picked up her phone and started dialing his contact. Maybe it was mistake? He was pressurized? Perhaps it wasn’t meant for me? All these thoughts ran through her mind.

It wasn’t available. She dialed again and it was the same response. She was about to start crying again when she heard a sudden uproar from outside.

Before she could comprehend anything, the door flung open and Shane and Marlin barged in.

She stood up on her feet immediately. “What’s going on?” She inquired.

“The rogues are here. You need to get out of here Mia, Shane will get you somewhere safe.” Marlin hurriedly said. Mia was shocked again. “Rogues?” She blurted.

The Betas ignored her and moved closer to her. Both halted abruptly and stared at her eyes as if they had seen a ghost.

True, she looked like a ghost with her ruined face and the messy hair but she wasn’t sure if she looked that bad for them to stare like that.

Marlin and Shane shared an astounded look before turning to look at Mia again.

Unknown to her, her eyes were sparkling with red contacts. It was for a short moment but Marlin and Shane caught it.

Lian’s alpha marble!!!
