Chapter 11
Elara
‘Have you looked in the mirror? You look like a whore,’ he says, and my eyes widen. Did he just call me a whore. I scoff and fold my arms. Anger bubbling inside me.
‘She looks like a whore, not me,’ I grit my teeth, my eyes snapping to the woman standing in the corner now. Her eyes flash with outrage.
‘I’m not a whore. He’s my boyfriend,’ she spat confidently. One glare from me shuts her up. Zuriel gestures for her to leave, and with an annoyed huff, she runs back upstairs…
To his room. I watch after her with disdain, and suddenly my body is hot. It happens when he’s staring at me, my body reacts in such a manner to him.
‘Want to blast her with your eyes?’ he teased. Was he being playful right now?
‘I’m leaving, Zuzu,’ I roll my eyes as a smirk forms on my lips. I used to call Zuzu to tease him. His eyes widen in shock at that nickname I used to call him as a kid. He hated it so I used the nickname to get his attention. He’s trying to keep calm, inhaling in and out.
‘Don’t call me that,’ he growls.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
‘Don’t tell me what to do?’ I spat.
‘And you can’t leave,’
‘Why?’
‘Your hair is disheveled, your dress barely covers your ass, and your eyes are puffy,’ he points with a scowl. I was so eager to rush outside that I didn’t even look in the mirror. My cheeks burn in embarrassment. I should have fixed myself a little.
‘I’ll take you home, but change first,’ he says. He is right. I couldn’t go looking like I slept in a club.
I follow him upstairs and stand at his bedroom door. He comes out later with a black silk dress, and I hand it to me, but I don’t take it.
‘I’m not wearing her clothes,’ I say. I know I sound bitter, but it can’t be helped. Why would he bring her here while I’m sleeping in the room next to him?
‘It’s brand new,’ he informs me. I take it and go to the next room to change.
I unzip my dress and pull it down as I pick up the new dress. The door opens, and I turn abruptly to look at the intruder. It’s Zuriel.
His intense eyes wander to my body, and my heart races in my chest. He looks at me with starvation as low growls emit from his chest.
He doesn’t bother hiding his lust. How shameless! I just realize I’m only in my thong, no bra. I use the new dress to cover my chest, and he snaps out of his daze. I was hiding my body with the dress, even though it was no use as he had already seen me.
‘Why didn’t you knock?!’ I hiss.
‘There is a closet to change into, not the bedroom,’ he finally removes his eyes from me.
‘What do you want?’ I bark.
‘Shoes,’ he holds out a pair of pumps to me, and I take them harshly. His gaze finds me once more, and goosebumps appear on my skin, as a shiver goes down my body.
Once he leaves the room, I quickly get dressed. My heart still pounding from earlier when he walked in on me naked.
Zuriel drives me home. The car ride is silent. I’m worried about facing my parents. I will have to tell them what happened between Connor and me.
They will know I am no longer a virgin. Shame, I was feeling shame before I could even face them.
‘We messed up royally,’ I say to my wolf, Ara.
‘They will understand, Elara. They love us,’ she says, and I nod. I close my eyes the whole way there. I can feel Zuriel’s glances, but I don’t open my eyes to look at him.
We reach the packhouse and stall. I don’t want to face my father.
I remember the times Zuriel would bring me after running away from home to follow him around. I always looked back at him as I’m doing right now. I longed for him to take me with him but he never did. Zuriel always walked away without looking at me twice.
‘Leave the car. I’m late for a meeting,’ his voice is a monotone. I exhale.
‘Thank you,’ I grab the door, and open it. I look at him one more time before hopping out of the car. I am about to walk away when his voice speaks,
‘Call me… whenever you need me,’ his voice was barely audible but I heard him loud and clearly. I can’t describe how I feel right now. I nod and smile at him. He doesn’t return it though. He never smiles.
I watch his car drive off and then turn towards the entrance of the massive packhouse.
The guard on the door opens the door for me and bows. I notice the staresI’m receiving from many, stares of shock, and others whispering openly about me. What is going on? I wonder.
I decided to go to the queen of pack gossip, the beta’s daughter, and my best friend, Solena. She owns one of the well-known news channels in the pack. I rush to her suite and push the door open, but she is not there.
I go to my elder brother, Khai’s suite. It is in the west wing, and the most luxurious wing in the packhouse followed by the Beta, and Gamma’s.
I know Solena will be in Khai’s suite, she spends a lot of time there as she has a crush on him, but Khai doesn’t know. He only thinks of her as a friend. Boys are so clueless sometimes. I push the door open, and I find her there.
‘Elara!’
