Chapter 625
The atmosphere in the living room was so tense that no one dared to speak. Only Alice, completely unafraid of Jeremiah, nodded with a slight understanding.
"Yvette, I get it now. You don't want to marry him. You can marry me then. I can buy you lots of houses and snacks. I know I'm your favorite," said Alice.
The previously silent living room instantly lightened up after Alice's innocent words. Yvette lifted her beautiful eyes, and her lips curled nonchalantly with a mischievous and roguish expression.
Then, Yvette spoke slowly. "Alice, he's your future brother-in-law, Jeremiah."
Those words struck right in Jeremiah's heart. His furrowed brows immediately relaxed. The dangerous and intimidating aura he had vanished right away.
Bruce, Sienna, and Frankie all glanced at Jeremiah. The word "future brother-in-law" completely overthrew Yvette's earlier reply. At that moment, the same thought crossed all their minds at once.
They all found a hopeless romantic like Jeremiah terrifying. He was totally under Yvette's control. No matter how powerful a man was, he would be helpless when he met a woman he loved, not to mention a powerful woman.
Alice glanced at Jeremiah and thought, 'He pulled me, but Yvette told me he's my future brother-in-law' Reluctantly, Alice called out, "Jeremiah." Then, Alice mumbled quietly, "If you pull my collar again, I'll get Yvette to deal with you."
Jeremiah's lips curled into a smile as he acknowledged Alice's address with a simple hum. Sienna quickly jumped in, "Yvette, Mr. Chavez, dinner is already reserved. Shall we go downstairs now?"
Yvette nodded, and the others tidied up to head downstairs to eat. Yvette and Jeremiah walked side by side at the back.
Jeremiah suddenly stopped and said seriously, "There's no such thing as maybe."
Yvette paused with a playful smirk and raised her eyebrow mischievously. She looked every bit like a cheeky female bully as she replied, "We'll see how well you behave then."
Jeremiah stood there with an air of elegance and charm, looking strikingly handsome and enigmatic. He paused for a few seconds and said in a deep voice, "Don't you already know that from earlier?"
Jeremiah said that without a hint of embarrassment, showing a straight face as if he was saying something of utmost importance. Just by looking at his face, one would never guess he had said such a bold thing.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
Yvette shoved her hands in her pockets, glanced at Jeremiah casually, and replied calmly, "Nope."
Jeremiah lowered his eyes and asked, "Are you planning to toss me to the side once we're out of bed?""
Yvette nodded openly with a playful smile and said, "Yes."
Jeremiah wasn't surprised at all. He knew there was nothing Yvette wouldn't do. With a light chuckle, he said, "Fine. I'll just keep you in bed next time."
Yvette refused to back down. With a cheeky grin, she reached out and patted Jeremiah's muscular chest, whispering, "Did you forget who was on top earlier?"
As expected, Jeremiah's expression changed momentarily when he heard that. He felt it was time he changed Yvette's habit of being in control.

Then, Yvette withdrew her hand and chuckled indifferently as she continued toward the dining area.
'Who is he bluffing? There's no saying who will be unable to get out of bed, thought Yvette. After all, she never gave in to anyone when it came to strength and endurance.
As the largest spa resort in the area, it specializes in combining hot tubs with gourmet dining. Guests could enjoy a private spa while they dine, offering them an exceptional experience.
As soon as the group entered the private room, they saw two steaming hot tubs separated by a screen. A large table was also already set in the middle of the room with mostly Yvette's favorite dishes.
Once everyone was seated, Jeremiah, as always, began grilling meat for Yvette. Meanwhile, Bruce grilled meat for Sienna, and with Alice there, Emmett was also busy serving her.
Frankie and Chris exchanged looks, glancing at the three couples sitting across them-grilling meat, passing napkins, and serving dishes. They couldn't help but wonder if they really needed to be there.
Frankie picked up a piece of raw salmon slice, sighed, and said, “Why does the raw salmon slice here taste so sour?"
On the other hand, Chris was already used to the public display of affection. It used to be Jeremiah and Yvette, then Bruce and Sienna, and now there was Emmett and Alice.
Chris calmly picked up a piece of salmon, looked at Frankie, and said, "You haven't eaten it yet."
Frankie replied, "No need. I can smell how sour it is." The corner of Chris' mouth twitched at Frankie's reply.
In the neighboring private room, a woman with delicate features, dressed in a Ybaullan outfit, was serving coffee on her knees to two chatting men covered in tattoos. She backed to the corner after pouring the coffee and lowered her head.
One of the men spoke with an unsettling voice. His face was dark and threatening as he said, "Kaiden was killed in Clusia, and Larry's faction was wiped out overnight. Whose power is behind this? It couldn't have been an internal matter within Steel Serpents.
"Months of investigation have revealed nothing. Who could have quietly taken out Larry's entire faction? It's unbelievable."/
The man sitting across from him slowly lifted his head. With a vicious face, sinister gaze, and rugged features, the man looked evil.
The man said, "Mr. Barnes, the businesses under Larry's faction were the most profitable in Steel Serpents. There's nothing. we can do now if we can't find the killer. Our current top priority is to take over his business as soon as possible. We'll face huge losses if the other factions get them instead.
"Steel Serpents' annual meeting is in seven days. This matter will definitely be discussed. Are you willing to watch those profitable deals be divided with the other factions? How much will you get with a total of 12 factions?"
The man called Mr. Barnes was Callum Barnes. He led the largest faction in Steel Serpents after Larry. Since Larry's faction was wiped out, Callum's influence was the largest among the 12 factions. And with Larry's business thriving now, Callum definitely didn't want to share it with anyone else.
Callum downed the coffee in his hand with a grim look, and his eyes narrowed with a sinister vibe.
"Mr. Young, Mr. Iverson won't let me off easy if he finds out I've been secretly dealing with other factions. He had already talked to me and said he wanted to give Larry's business to Jasper," said Callum.
Mr. Young, also known as Sage Young, was the man with the earlier suggestion. His face was disdainful at Callum's reply, and he said, "Mr. Barnes, Mr. Iverson is old now. Steel Serpents needs a new leader. Are you satisfied with obeying him forever?
"Your current power has already made him cautious. Mr. Atkins has always wanted to replace you. If Larry's business is given to him, will there still be a place for you in Steel Serpents?"

Callum's face darkened-slightly. After a moment, he said, "No. There are dozens of high-level Tradecrafters by Mr. Iverson's side. Each of them is capable of killing without leaving a trace. If we offend him, I'm afraid..."
There was no need to say more. Sage understood immediately. Still, he said through gritted teeth, "Mr. Barnes, Mr. Iverson has high-level Tradecrafters by his side, but we can also recruit professionals ourselves."
