Chapter 10 Trouble Brewing
The tense atmosphere made the interns behind Emma Lang realize that something was wrong and
they started whispering.
"Okay, I'll go." Emma looked William right in the eyes, her face calm and her voice smooth.
If this is how William wants to vent out his anger, then so be it.
As they looked at each other, William's gaze hardened. Emma backing down didn't make him feel any
happier.
On the contrary, her calm demeanor made him even more unhappy.
Suddenly, a sharp voice was heard from the other end of the hospital corridor.
"Who is Emma Lang?"
Following the sound, a plump middle-aged woman holding a red crocodile birkin stormed out of the
elevator into the hallway. The look on her face clearly said she was pissed off.
When she saw Emma, the anger on her face suddenly rose and she walked over angrily. She pointed
at Emma Lang's name tag and scolded, "You're Emma Lang? You little bitch!"

Emma was stunned. The place where she was hit turned red immediately. The slap was so forceful that
her entire body tilted sideways.
Interns started gasping. Even William's emotionless face had changed.
The woman was furious and screaming. "You bitch! You tried to seduce my husband, dirty whore! You
call yourself a doctor?"
Then she raised her hand again to slap Emma.
William suddenly let go of Jennifer's hand and tried to step forward.
Jennifer caught a glimpse of this tiny movement and pulled him tightly. She leaned against him and
stopped him. "William…"
On the other side, Emma was quick to recover from the shock. She grabbed the middle-aged woman's
hand mid air and calmly said, "You're mistaken. I don't know you at all.”
"Of course, you don't know me! But I know you. You're Emma Lang, aren't you? You are the little whore
who's been trying to sleep with my husband!”
Someone suddenly said, "She is Mr. Sullivan's wife in the VIP ward."
"Did you hear that? Everyone knows who I am. You should be ashamed of yourself!"
Emma frowned. "You are spewing nonsense! Do you have evidence, Mrs. Sullivan? I've never tried to
seduce your husband."
"Evidence?"
Mrs. Sullivan sneered and shook Emma Lang's hand away. "I thought doctors are supposed to be
smart. If I don't have any evidence, why would I come looking for you? Since so many people are here,
let everyone see how shameless you are."
Mrs. Sullivan pulled out her phone from her bag and opened a video for everyone to see. She shouted,
"Look at this! Tell me this is not her trying to seduce my husband!"
In the video, Mr. Sullivan grabs Emma's hand and teases her affectionately, while Emma stands there
without reacting. People must think this was Emma's way of silently allowing Mr. Sullivan to do as he
pleases but in reality that's not what happened. Whoever took this video clearly took it out of context.
Emma Lang frowned as she watched the video.
She remembered that day. Not long after Mr. Sullivan was admitted to the hospital, she didn't pull her
hand away in time because she was giving him an IV hook up. Right after, she firmly pulled his hand
away.
Who would do such a thing?
