Chapter 68
Chapter 68
Dr. Leah subconsciously looked at Zane, who was staring at the tablet in his hand without any
expression. It was as if whether Lianne stayed or left had nothing to do with him.
Dr. Leah shook her head helplessly. “Lianne, finish the soup first. Then we’ll talk.”
“Okay.” Lianne also planned to finish eating before leaving. Otherwise, Tyler and Sierra would worry
about her when they saw her ghostly face.
The soup was hearty and warm. After Lianne finished a bowl, she wanted seconds. Dr. Leah brought
her another bowl and said with a smile, “Since you have an appetite, it proves you’re in good health.”
“It’s also because of your good cooking skills, Dr. Leah.” After having two bowls of soup, Lianne felt she
had recovered her physical strength. She was also in better spirits. “Mr. Atlas, Dr. Leah, then I’ll…”
Before Lianne finished speaking, Pete came in with a large box in his arms. “Mr. Atlas, Mr. Lambert © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
said you must unwrap the birthday present he gave you. I scanned it and saw there were no dangerous
items. Do you want to unwrap it?”
Zane nodded irritably.
Pete unpacked the box layer after layer. Some adult toys came into view.
When Pete saw it, his dark face turned red at a speed visible to the naked eye. “Mr. Atlas, Mr. Lambert
asked me to…”
Dr. Leah covered her mouth and coughed.
Lianne was speechless.
It was rumored that her boss never approached women. It was also rumored within the elite circle that
his wife was cheating on him. Could it be that Zane would rather touch this dummy than a real person?
If this was the case, Zane might have some unspeakable illness.
For a moment, Lianne did not know whether to feel sorry for her boss or his wife.
Zane glanced at the toys without feeling embarrassed. He said calmly, “Wrap it in a transparent
package and deliver it to his office when he returns.”
“Yes, sir.” Pete immediately put away the embarrassing things for fear of polluting his boss’s eyes.
Lianne could only pretend she had not seen anything and pretended to be calm. “Mr. Atlas, I’ll get
going then.”
“Okay.” Zane still did not lift his head. He heard Lianne walking toward the door and the sound of the
door opening and closing. After making sure she left, Zane coughed violently.
Dr. Leah said, “You should go back in. I’ll continue the drip for you.”
Just now, when Zane heard Lianne was awake, he ripped out the needle and came over. However,
then, all he did was ignore Lianne, leaving Dr. Leah puzzled.
“No need. I’m going to the Southhill Estate to meet Grandma later.” Zane had intended to go to
Southhill Estate after the birthday party last night, but it was delayed due to his being drugged.
Dr. Leah knew she could not persuade him, but she still could not help but nag at hirn. “Old Mrs. Atlas
won’t blame you if you don’t go this time.”
HC Manor was a high-end neighborhood with few people living in it. The elevator was connected to the
entrance of the house, so it was difficult to run into neighbors. Lianne quickly went down to the first
floor, walked out of the neighborhood, and found a conspicuous place to wait for Tyler.
Pete came out of nowhere and said, “Ms. Simpson, Mrs. Atlas has already fled abroad. Her underlings
have also been dealt with, so no one will trouble you in the future.”
Lianne replied, “Thank you!”
Pete turned and left without saying a word.
When Lianne turned her head, she saw Tyler’s car.
Pete went upstairs and said to Zane, “Mr. Atlas, Ms. Simpson’s husband came to pick her up, so didn’t
follow her.”
