Lumma said, “So, you should give up.”

Harry grunted.

Harry said, “I told you that Adam wasn’t a good person, but neither of you listened:”

Lumma thought for a moment before saying, “If anyone in our hometown talks ill of me, you don’t have to bother with them. Those rumors can’t hurt me anymore.”

Lumma truly didn’t mind. “We can’t control other people’s mouths, so why bother with what they say? We just need to work hard and do better with our lives.”

Ruby asked, “What about Lucas? Has he contacted you recently?”

When Lucas was mentioned, Lumma felt warm inside. “Tonight, Lucas not only gave me his blessing but also transferred all the money he earned this year to my account. He said it was to pay for the decorations of the house. In fact, he wants me to help him manage his money.”
