Chapter 1935
Nobody paid Wynn any mind, but he didn’t mind. He continued to speak with a smile. “I heard some noise last night and knew it was you guys returning… So, I bought some food this morning. Sephy, don’t you like this kind of noodles?”
He linked arms with Persephone and led her to the table.
“Did you… fight?” He chuckled. “No worries, let’s fill our stomachs first. Then we’ll have the energy to continue arguing with him!”
Persephone was momentarily stunned before she couldn’t hold back her laughter.
Morpheus silently walked out, followed by the heavy sound of the door closing. Seamus glanced worriedly at Persephone but then received a call and had to leave.
As Wynn watched Seamus leave in a hurry, his hand holding a sandwich and coffee suspended in the air awkwardly. He grimaced.
“Ah… Let’s ignore them!” He sat down, coaxing Persephone, “Come, let me mix the noodles for you!”
“I’m not really hungry.” Persephone looked at him.
To outsiders, Wynn was a monster they couldn’t understand. But in her eyes, he was one of the few people in this world, apart from her family, genuinely good to her.
She didn’t have her guard up against him, especially during these low moments of emotional turmoil. Naturally, she gently leaned on his shoulder and closed her eyes, feeling somewhat weary.
Wynn reached out, stroking her hair as if comforting a heartbroken younger sister.
He persuaded her to eat a bit, then took her to the mountaintop. It was a view Persephone had never seen before, overlooking lush forests and winding mountain roads. Further down, the entire city lay before her eyes.
Flinge was a city in shades of gray. Even most buildings were gray-walled. At night, though, it boasted the world’s most vibrant colors.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updates…
Persephone beheld this city from this perspective for the first time, filled with a fresh sense of wonder.
“Feeling better now?” Wynn smiled at her. “Whenever I’m upset, I come here and sit for a while. This place has some kind of magic. It doesn’t take long before any worries in my heart unravel!”
Persephone turned to him. “Don’t you want to ask me… why I left and why I came back?”
Wynn paused for a moment, then shook his head.
“A lot of things don’t need to be asked, and you don’t need to explain. If you want to talk to me, I’ll listen. If you don’t, you don’t have to force it. You’re certainly going to leave because you don’t belong here. And coming back…”
He blinked. “It’s fate’s arrangement.”
“Hmm?”
“Fate won’t let you leave Morpheus!”
Persephone’s heart skipped a beat. She lowered her head, her face seeming feverish.
It was just that with so many doubts surrounding Morpheus…
“Sephy, I don’t know what happened between you and Morpheus,” Wynn said in a low voice. “But I know he’s different with you.”
Persephone’s gaze twinkled slightly, but she remained silent.
“The ones involved are often confused, and only bystanders can see things clearly.” Wynn chuckled. “Morpheus isn’t an ordinary person, and no ordinary girl matches him.”
Persephone forced a smile. “I’m not that special.” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“But to him, you’re that special someone.”
