Chapter 3236 The Failed Loan

In the Montiria five-star hotel, a loud crash echoed as a vase shattered on the floor. Silvanus, who had been brimming with confidence just moments ago, was now seething with rage, his eyes blazing with fury. He turned on the financial magnates present, shouting at the

top of his lungs, "What the hell are you all doing? Not a single one of you could get any money!"

Just earlier, these top-tier financial magnates from Dornia had gone to Montiria's banks to secure loans. They spent money, dined well, drank their fill, and in the end, all they got was a dismissive reply: no funds available.

The faces of the financial magnates turned ashen. Without the Montirian Ducats they had counted on, they were finished. This meant their plan to short Montirian enterprises had completely failed. Worse yet, they wouldn't even be able to repay the Dornian Emeralds they had mortgaged back home. There was only one outcome for them now-bankruptcy.

"This can't be happening. Where's Garrett? Didn't he swear that we'd succeed?" one of the financial magnates, looking frenzied, scanned the room for Garrett.

"Yes, where is Garrett? Why haven't we seen him?"

The financial magnates looked around in a panic, but Garrett was nowhere to be found.

"Could Garrett have been a mole all along, here to sabotage us?"

"Impossible! The royal family has always been ruthless; Garrett wouldn't gamble like this."

"Where is he then?"

As the financial magnates spiraled into panic, a heavy sigh broke through the chaos.

"Stop looking. Garrett has probably already fled," said Silvanus, seated at the front with a ghastly pale countenance.

"What?! Isn't he an ally? How could he just run away?"

"Yeah, Silvanus, what good would running do him? How's he going to repay all those debts?"

As the others argued, a bitter smile crossed Silvanus' face. "What debts does he have? He didn't borrow a dime from Dornian banks. The ones who borrowed money are all of you, and even if his old allies mortgaged their assets, what difference would it make? They couldn't survive in Montiria anyway."

Silvanus' words hit them like a slap in the face, jolting the financial magnates into a harsh realization. This entire plan to short Montiria was, at its core, a high-stakes gamble one they had gone all in on, believing Garrett's promises of guaranteed success. victorious. But now, with everything falling apart, they were left with

nothing. Worse, they might even end

up drowning in debt.

"Sir, bad news! The exchange rate for Montirian Ducats has dropped again—it's now 1:4!" A servant rushed in from outside, delivering the grim news to Silvanus.

Pfft!

Silvanus, already weak, was so overwhelmed with anger that he coughed up a mouthful of blood, splattering his lips with crimson and making him look even closer to death's door. "Mr. Loris?! Someone call an ambulance!"

The room descended into chaos.

Silvanus, who had held the most authority among them, had collapsed, bleeding and

unconscious. With him out of

commission now, could they really

hope to find a way out of this disaster?

"A bunch of useless fools, only good for wailing and raging."
