Chapter 38
Hailynn
“For the millionth time, amore, no.”
“Dante-”
“No. No means no. For God’s sake, amore, you’re almost eight months along. You can hardly work on your own.”
“That’s why you’re going with me.”
“No.”
I gave him a pout and my famous puppy dog eyes that I realized during my pregnancy that it works against him. I can get whatever I want with these eyes.
“Oh, no. Don’t give me that look. It’s not gonna work this time.” He wasn’t even looking at me straight. Surely because of fear that he might be swayed because of my eyes.
He continued to work on some documents behind his desk. My shoulder slumped in disappointment.
You must be wondering what I had been asking from my handsome Italian man, the father of the twins inside my belly. I simply wanted to visit my parents’ grave.
I have been bugging him about this since we woke up. I even got to the point where I threatened him that he will not sleep with me ever. He confidently shrugged and responded that it will not last long and he will be happy to sleep in another room just as long as I don’t get to go out.
I sat down on one of the couches in his study in a defeated state. I heard Dante stepped out of his desk and approached me. He crouched down so his face and height could level my sitting position.
“Amore, you must understand. You’re in a state right now that I always worry. What if something happens and I might not know what to do? You know I’m still new to this just as you are. You’re even carrying two human beings which is not that easy.”
I brushed him off by standing up. I didn’t look at him and ignored him as I walked out of his study. I heard him sighing heavily on my way out.
I just wanted to see my parents’ grave. I wanted to talk to them that could only be done in front of them. Why can’t he allow me just this time? I have been so obedient to him and only asked this huge request once this time.
“Hailynn?” I raised my head and saw Leo who stopped in front of me, eyeing me with concern. “You okay?” He asked again with a frown.
I smirked inwardly when an idea popped in my head.
I nodded. “Yeah. It’s just… Dante couldn’t go with me to the cemetery so I’m a bit sad. I wanted to visit my parents’ grave but he said he can’t go with me and just suggested to ask one of his men instead.”
His eyebrows knitted in disbelief. “Angelo said that?” I could see the look he was giving me. It seemed he didn’t believe that his best friend could let me go easily.
I nodded innocently. “Could you go with me, Leo? We’re not going to take long. I’m just going to give them their favorite flowers and then we go back.” Leo was silent and was only staring at me. But I did my best by using my puppy eyes.
He sighed. “Alright.” I did a happy dance in the back of my mind. “Let me go to Angelo first and tell him.”Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
I immediately grab his arm and pull him towards the garage. “No, it’s okay. He’s busy right now. I don’t think he wants to be disturbed. He was working with a lot of backlogs you know. Why do you think he said I should ask one of his men? It’s a good thing I met you Leo. I mean he trusts you the most. He’ll be reassured that I’m going with you.” I blabbered as I dragged him outside. My smile couldn’t simply be wiped off at the success of my plan.
We stopped by a flower shop first to buy my mother’s favorite flowers, white roses. She once said to me that the flowers were like a blank canvas for her. She once experimented it on with dye in various colors. The color came out great and I loved to watch them as a child.
When we arrived at the cemetery, Leo maintained a good distance so he could watch over me and give me privacy at the same time. I was grateful for it. I then started my little speech to my parents.
This time, I finally moved on.

Dante
“Where the fuck is she?!” My voice boomed against the walls of my mansion.
My men were on high alert searching for my missing wife. “Where is Leo?!” I asked one of my men but they didn’t know either. I dialled his number and called him. A few rings later, he answered.
“Where are you? Did you not know my pregnant wife is missing?” I growled. I know Leo didn’t do anything wrong but I can’t help but get furious at everyone. I can’t help but blame everyone and get frustrated at myself that I didn’t come after her right away when she walked out of my office.
“What are you talking about? I thought you let her go to the cemetery.” My eyes widened. My fist clenched as an instant reaction. My heart jumped suddenly feeling afraid, worried, furious and a hell lot of mixed emotions.
“What?!” I bellowed.
Leo though sounded innocent in this so I couldn’t scold him. He’s too loyal to me. I’m sure Hailynn might have set him up.
“She’s with me right now, Angelo. She said you couldn’t go with her so she asked me to accompany her instead.”
I knew it. I fucking knew it.
My blood boiled at the sudden turn of events. Hailynn you little- I will really tie you to bed and fuck you until I ran out of cum.
“Send me your location.” I then hang up.
I immediately went to get my car and drove towards the cemetery. Leo already sent me the location. They stopped by the flower shop first before going to the cemetery. It appeared that Hailynn was choosing flowers when I called. I texted him not to tell her anything.
If she wants surprises so bad then I’m going to go with what she wants.
The cemetery was as usual quiet and there was no one besides my wife and best friend there. Leo was a few meters away from Hailynn who was facing the grave of her parents. He must’ve given her some privacy since she was now speaking to their grave. But I’m not going to respect any of that shit. Hailynn almost gave me a fucking heart attack.
I stomped my way towards Leo, letting him know that I just arrived. I was a man on a mission and I’m going to carry that woman back to our home.
Leo was surprised to see that I arrived so fast. Shaking his head, he apologized as expected. “Sorry, man. She tricked me.”
“I should’ve known.” Our heads swiftly turned towards her when we heard her talk to her parents’ grave.
“You can rest assured now. I finally found someone who will take care of me… who will love me for the rest of my life. I love him, mom and dad. I hope you’re happy for me as you guys watch me there in heaven.”
I think my heart just exploded.
