Chapter 9
Chapter 9
After Jocelyn finished submitting her draft, Skyler finished taking his bath. He then came out of the bathroom.
He was topless whereas he had a towel wrapped around his lower body. His thin but sturdy physique was and eight-pack abs were clearly visible. His physique made him look good in clothes, but he also boasted a good figure without them as well.
Jocelyn looked at the water droplets on his abs that did not get dried off by his towel. She blushed and moved her gaze away. She did not dare to continue looking at him.
Skyler walked over and stood beside her. “Have you finished working on it?”
Jocelyn lowered her head like a quail. “Yes, it’s all done!”
Skyler added, “Are you satisfied with the gift that I gave you?”
Jocelyn immediately nodded. “I’m satisfied. It’s really useful!”
Skyler let out an affirmative hum and said, “Go to sleep then!”
Jocelyn blushed and raised her head. She was so nervous that she did not know what to do. “Ah!”
Skyler could read her thoughts at first sight. He trailed his fingers gently across her face and said softly, “Don’t worry, I won’t touch you before you finish taking revenge! We’re just going to bed!”
Jocelyn immediately lowered her head again. She was blushing so hard that she could not look him straight in the eye.
Skyler felt that teasing her was fun. He bent down suddenly. His masculine scent surrounded Jocelyn. “What’s wrong? Are you anticipating it?”
Jocelyn raised her head. She blushed furiously as she was left tongue-tied. “No, I wasn’t!”
Skyler laughed lightly and turned around to walk toward the bed. “Take a bath and go to bed!”
Yesterday, he realized that he slept better while hugging this woman!
In the past, he could only sleep up to five hours every night if he took sleeping pills.
When Jocelyn got under the sheets after her bath, he wrapped his arms around her and the sheets.
The next morning.
After waking up, Jocelyn left the room. Skyler was reading the financial news just like yesterday.
She walked over and spoke to him in an unnatural tone, “You…did you sleep well last night?”
Skyler raised his head to glance at her. He smirked and said, “I slept better than you think!”
Jocelyn blushed without saying anything.
After having breakfast, Skyler suggested he would send Jocelyn to the company. However, Jocelyn rejected his offer. “Today, I’m…not going to the company first!”
Skyler raised his brow. He left without asking her any questions.
He had not left for long when Jocelyn received a screenshot that her friend had sent her via text. She had texted her the words, “This is what you asked for!”
The screenshot was taken at half-past seven last night. It was a screenshot of Lily’s submission of Jocelyn’s scanned design draft in the Century Jewelry Competition.
Half-past eight in the morning, shocking news appeared online before the working hours of some companies.
Breaking news: There has been some shocking news. Identical works have appeared in both Prosperity Jewelry’s Century Jewelry Competition and Starlight Jewelry Competition.
Criticism from judges: Plagiarism is treacherous. Designers that engage in such lowly behavior should be banished from the jewelry industry! Do not pollute this clean industry!
This news post was continuously shared by netizens. It was already trending crazily within ten minutes.
Everyone in the comment section started scolding the designer that had plagiarized for not deserving to be a designer and being a copycat that should be banished from the jewelry industry.
Some of them even started scolding the designer’s ancestors.
As this news post grew more and more popular, even the designers behind both works were exposed online.
They were Lily and Jocelyn White from Oasis Jewelry!
Since Lily had received many grand prizes for her work, everyone knew about her abilities. Therefore, everyone started directing their hate and scorn toward Jocelyn.
Everyone was crazily scolding Jocelyn for plagiarism.
Some of the most popular hashtags were as below:

Jocelyn sat on the hotel sofa and looked at the hate comments directed toward her expressionlessly. It was as if they were not scolding her.
She waited silently for this incident to develop even more.
At nine in the morning, another hashtag started trending.
#LilyWhiteHasSuedJocelynWhite
In her lawyer’s letter, Lily mentioned that Jocelyn was her half-sister since they shared the same father but had different mothers. Although she was extremely upset that Jocelyn had done something like that, she would forgive her and drop all legal procedures if she chose to give a public apology, admit to plagiarism, apologize to the organizers of Century Jewelry Competition, and Starlight Jewelry Competition, and drop out of the competition. After all, they were still sisters.
The comments beneath the hashtag all mentioned that Lily was being too soft-hearted and how much she loved her family. Meanwhile, they scolded Jocelyn for not deserving to even be a person and called her other derogatory terms.
