Lovin’ in the Moonlight

Chapter 1 His Taboo

A private villa in a prime location in Syracuse.

The sun shines on the carefully tended private lawn, and the flowers that spread throughout the house are lush, and everything looks vibrant.

The classical European-style architecture and the retro but gorgeous decorations all show off the owner’s illustrious family.

Two servants led the way in front, and a slim woman in a white coat followed without a glance.

“The young master is very uncomfortable with any physical contact with strangers, so please pay attention when the young lady goes in later.”

The butler spoke without condescension, as if he was stating the regulations in detail.

Fairen Evert smiled, her slender eyebrows frowned slightly, and nodded.

What surprised her even more was that the butler opened up the box and enumerated ten or so of the “young master’s” taboos.

“The young master’s suspicion is heavy, most afraid of others covet his appearance and …”

Fairen Evert could not help but hold his forehead and sweat, so many eccentricities, no wonder no one is willing to come even if the price is so high.

But seeing the seriousness of the butler’s expression, she could not say anything.

“Miss, please.” A heavy and antique door slowly opened.

Fairen Evert had just set one foot into the inner hall when she felt the depression and somberness in the room.

It was clearly an opulent living room, but the doors and windows were tightly covered, leaving not a single gap.

Fairen Evert likes light, it is very uncomfortable to stay in such a dim environment, so after the butler left, she immediately went to the floor-to-ceiling windows, ready to pull the curtains open.

At that moment, an ear-splitting sound of broken porcelain came, “Bang–”

Those valuable antique utensils were broken into pieces on the ground in a twinkling.

Accompanied by the man’s low and irritable low rebuke: “A bunch of useless trash.”

Fairen Evert’s hand movement paused, from her angle, she saw the man’s straight and slender figure, and the servants beside him who did not dare to utter a breath, humbly bowing their heads.

The temper is indeed quite strong.

Her gaze met the man’s head-on, and a pair of delicate brows frowned slightly.

“Young master … this is Miss Evert, the new escort.”

The words landed, the man slowly looked up, and Fairen Evert froze.

The carved jaw line is smooth and handsome, the dark pupils are as mysterious and deep as the dark night, and the fine streams of light under the eyes are elusive.

The company’s main business is to provide a wide range of products and services to its customers.

The man’s narrow eyes were full of impatience, swept Fairen Evert a glance, coldly said: “Who told you to touch the things here.”

Fairen Evert pursed her lips and put down the curtain cloth in her hand. She remembered what the housekeeper said about the taboo, and finally did not confront the man.

“I just saw that the interior doors and windows were closed and too depressing, nothing more.” She looked straight at Maxton West and said without condescension.

And Maxton West smiled coldly, a hint of disdain crossing his eyes as he took a few steps forward and stood in front of Fairen Evert, sweeping a faint glance at her.

“It seems that the housekeeper did not explain clearly to you …” Maxton West deliberately lengthened his tone, which inexplicably gave people a sense of oppression.

The housekeeper immediately bent down in fear and apologized: “Sorry, young master, it was our mistake.”

Maxton West raised his eyebrows and said without a trace of emotion in his voice: “Change.”

The maids on the sidelines held their breath, but they were already used to this scene.

The Fairen Evert in front of him, already lost count of the number of times, this time, and in what way will be driven away …

Fairen Evert froze in place, she did not expect that this man would drive her away at the drop of a hat.

She couldn’t afford to lose this part-time job.

If she lost this opportunity, she wouldn’t even be able to maintain a normal life.

Maxton West saw Fairen Evert still standing in place, the coldness between her eyebrows unabated.

“I’m sorry, I’ll pay attention in the future, please give me this chance.” Fairen Evert lowers his head and bows towards Maxton West in apology.

Maxton West gave her a bland look and left the living room without saying a word.

Fairen Evert stood apprehensively until the housekeeper approached her and nodded to her, then she breathed a sigh of relief that her job was saved for now.

Fairen Evert saw that the maids and the housekeeper were doing their jobs and had no time for her, so she had to stay put.

At the end of the day, the housekeeper handed Fairen Evert a delicate tray and said, “Miss Evert, you can start your work now.”

Fairen Evert nodded, held the tray, walked to the heavy sandalwood door, and slowly pushed it open.

The interior was dim, as she expected, leaving only a warm yellow light.

Maxton West was wearing a dark silk robe, half lying on the bed, the casual open neckline, revealing a large, strong chest, lightly covered by a thin blanket, lazy and sexy.

Fairen Evert only took one look at it and her cheeks turned red. She inexplicably remembered the housekeeper’s advice and immediately put away all other thoughts and walked over to Maxton West.

“Mr. West, it’s time to take your medicine.” Fairen Evert handed the tiny tray discreetly to Maxton West and whispered.

But Maxton West’s eyes remained on the book in his hands, not even parting with a glance to Fairen Evert.

A few moments passed, and Maxton West had no intention of taking the medicine, treating Fairen Evert as a transparent person.

Fairen Evert gritted his teeth, looked at the tray in his hand with some difficulty, simply divided the medicine and poured it into his hand, holding the glass in his other hand, and handed it to Maxton West again.

Maxton West frowned, looked up and said coldly: “Who told you to lean so close?”

He closed the book directly and reached right out to brush away Fairen Evert’s hands.

His force was so fierce and precise that the colorful pills rolled to the ground, catching Fairen Evert off guard.

The glass bottle broke apart under Fairen Evert’s feet, and one of the shards just stuck to her slim ankle.

A sharp pain came from the bottom of her foot, instantly breaking open a bloody gash and dripping with blood.

“Miss Evert…” the maid who heard the commotion in the room rushed in and was a little overwhelmed by the situation.

The pain on the bottom of her foot swept through her, and Fairen Evert winced in pain, almost crying out, but Maxton West remained unmoved, a pair of narrow eyes full of harshness. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

A moment later, Fairen Evert waved her hand with her eyes closed, indicating that she was fine, and knelt down to put the pieces away again, without any complaints or complaints the whole time, as if the wound was not hers.

“I’m really sorry, I’ll be careful to keep my distance from you in the future.” Fairen Evert cleaned up the mess and left Maxton West’s room in a hurry.

Maxton West looked at the back of Fairen Evert limping out of the room with pain, a trace of strange in the eyes.
