Love’ss 79
Chapter 79
On the way back, Andrew informed Madelyn, “I’ll be at Lotivale for about a week. If you’re bored, you can find Mom.” He was referring to
Grace.
Before Madelyn could respond, Andrew added, “Don’t meet anyone from the Garcia family. You shouldn’t plead on their behalf, too.”
Madelyn had no intentions of doing so. Seeing Andrew’s firm stance made her wonder how much he detested the Garcias. His feelings for her couldn’t override his loathing for them.
Of course, Andrew’s aversion was partly because of what the Garcia family had put Madelyn through.
The past few days had been tough for them, and they had been constantly calling Madelyn. Andrew knew all about Madelyn’s return to the Garcia residence and her visit to Elena.
Andrew was genuinely concerned that Madelyn would ask him to help the Garcia family on her behalf.
Madelyn wrapped her arms around Andrew, snuggling closer. “Don’t worry. I won’t see them, and I won’t ask for any favors.”
In her past life, Madelyn often relayed the Garcia family’s requests to Andrew. In hindsight, she was not only dumb but also shameless.
Despite Madelyn’s attempts to break away from him, she still sought to leverage his influence for the Garcia family’s gain. Ultimately, she was abandoned and met a tragic demise.
Andrew heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing Madelyn’s assurance. However, Madelyn’s next words sent a jolt through him. “Because I’m coming with you to Lotivale.”
Andrew froze and lowered his gaze at her. “No.”
Madelyn frowned. Was he aware that his visit to Lotivale this time would be fraught with challenges?
“Why not?”
“It’s a special situation this time. Just trust me on this,” he murmured, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.
It struck Madelyn then that while Andrew and Wilson always collaborated, they had never simultaneously worked on the same project before.
Yet now, both were bound for Lotivale together.
Why were they going to Lotivale? Madelyn knew Andrew would get hurt, and knew roughly when and where, but not why.
If only she had treated him better in the past life and paid more attention, she wouldn’t be so confused now.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Is it really impossible for us to go together?”
Hope flickered in Madelyn’s wide eyes as she gazed at Andrew. She knew his usual weakness for her doe–eyes, but this time, his resolve
held firm.
Andrew reached out, gently mussing her soft hair. “Not this time, darling. I can take you there for a few days during the holidays.”
His refusal to bring her along suggested that something urgent required his attention.
A shadow of disappointment crossed Madelyn’s face. “Okay, then.”
“I’ll be back as soon as I can,” Andrew promised.
“Okay.” Madelyn nodded, opting not to press the matter further.
When they were back at Serenity Villa, Andrew wasted no time in carrying Madelyn straight to their room.
The past few days had been a whirlwind–the frenzy of preparations for Athena’s birthday banquet followed by the dramatic incident by Natalie.
They had no time to be intimate amid the chaos. However, Madelyn’s current condition meant their intimacy was limited to tender
embraces.
Madelyn looked at the jagged scar on Andrew’s chest. The crusted wound was rather long. Her eyes stung with remorse.
Andrew pulled her close and kissed her tenderly on the forehead. ” Having you back is the greatest gift I could ask for.” Hence, he was willing to let go of the past hurts.
Madelyn burrowed her face against Andrew’s chest, listening to his heartbeat’s steady rhythm.
“But do you think I’m awful? I couldn’t bring myself to confess to Mom and Grandma about hurting you.”
“Weren’t you giving them a taste of their own medicine?”
Madelyn remained silent, contemplating his words.
So, has he known all along that Elena was manipulative? Come to think of it, Andrew had always been astute, so there was nothing he didn’t know of. He just preferred not to deal with those fools.
Madelyn wrapped her arms around Andrew’s neck and planted a kiss on his jawline before asking, “Will this trip to Lotivale involve Elijah?”
Ever since Carrie dropped a hint, Madelyn had been on guard against Elijah. He seemed polished with his gold–rimmed glasses and polite manners, but she sensed an underlying evil.
Madelyn was determined not to let history repeat itself.
