Chapter 29 

Madelyn stayed at the Miller residence for an hour to comfort Grace and Athena. Andrew did not appear.

When it was almost 6:00 pm, she looked at her wristwatch,

pretending to be anxious.

Grace asked, “Are you rushing for something?”

“Andrew will be getting off work soon.”

“Oh, Madelyn,” Grace rebuked her in amusement, though her voice was filled with fondness.

Athena was still angry. She waved a hand at Grace. “Alright, the two of them are finally getting on better. Let her go.”

“Thank you, Grandma,” Madelyn said sweetly.

Grace finally let go of her hand and told her to hurry home.

The two of them watched Madelyn leave. Athena was still so angry. that she was beating at her chest. Grace hurried up to comfort her, saying, “After your 80th birthday, I’ll pay the Garcias a visit!”

“You’re right. If they won’t even acknowledge their own daughter, how can they raise anyone well?” The more she thought about it, the angrier Athena was.

Madelyn left the house and saw Andrew standing next to the Rolls- Royce Silver Seraph. Ryan was there too, and the two of them were

Seeing Andrew, Madelyn ran over angrily. “Darling, you’re too much!”

She had been scared out of her wits, but he hadn’t come in to save her even though he was here.

Andrew reached out to catch her when he saw her bounding toward him like an excited rabbit.

There was a gentle look in Ryan’s eyes. The hardness in his gaze had disappeared, and there was even a look of indulgent kindness that he reserved especially for the younger members of the family.

Andrew looked down at Madelyn and saw how irritated she was. He said to Ryan, “Thank you.”

“My pleasure, Mr. Andrew. You should take Ms. Garcia home. She must have gotten quite a fright.”

Andrew smiled and carried Madelyn into the car.

Jason was driving.

Once she was in the car, Madelyn moved huffily to one side, looking extremely put out.

Andrew wrapped a large hand around her waist and pulled her into his arms. “Are you angry?”

“Hmph, you had already planned everything! Why didn’t you tell me? I almost died of fright!”

When she saw Andrew and Ryan chatting casually with each other, Madelyn realized that Ryan must have known about everything from the start. They had done it on purpose.

Andrew laughed in a low voice when he saw that she was angry.

Didn’t I tell you to wait for me before going in? You didn’t listen, and that’s your punishment.”

“If you’re going to blame me, I’m going to ignore you.” Madelyn was even more annoyed that Andrew wasn’t admitting to his faults.

Andrew saw that she was angry, and his gaze grew even fonder. His eyes seemed as deep as the sea, and they drew her to him. inexorably. In this life, Madelyn could not resist beautiful things.

Her anger slowly dissipated as she found herself falling into Andrew’s deep gaze. “You’re not allowed to do that again.”

“Okay. Whatever you say, Mrs. Miller.” Andrew hugged her and gave her a kiss. She tasted sweetness on his lips, and the beast inside his body was released at once.

Jason heard the noise behind him and quietly raised the barricade between them.

He felt that Rowan had made the right decision to go to Shalla Desert. He wished he could go too!

In the past, it had been tough to work with Andrew, but now, it was worse! Jason felt like he was being treated like a third–wheeler.

By the time they reached Serenity Villa, Madelyn was limp with exhaustion and had to be carried out of the car by Andrew.

“Stop. I can walk on my own,” Madelyn said weakly, clutching at his clothes.

Andrew’s injuries were recovering fairly well, and she did not want the stitches to burst again because of her.

Andrew bent his head and looked at Madelyn’s sweaty face. He

teased, “Do you still have the strength to walk?”

Madelyn shut up and burrowed into his chest.

When David saw Andrew carrying Madelyn out of the car, he immediately ordered all the household staff to get out of the way.
