Redmption 315
Bree sighed and remarked, "Brandon is really lucky to have you in his life."
I curved my lips into a faint smile but didn't say anything. In truth, I'm the lucky one. When Chris betrayed me, I met Brandon, who healed and redeem "When will you be back?" Bree asked.
"I'm not sure," I replied, not giving a specific time..
Bree sighed again. “Maddie, when you get back, come talk to me. I'm really struggling with all this."
Thinking about how she fell out with Chris because she stood up for me and drove Jewel away, I agreed.
"Alright, I'll visit you and Zack as soon as I return."
“Good. Take care of yourself out there, and be cautious in unfamiliar places," Bree advised.
“I will,” I assured her. "And Bree, don't let yourself get too upset."
Bree sighed heavily.
After the call ended, I breathed a sigh of relief. Ever since things went sour with Chris, I've found it increasingly stifling to talk with Bree and Zack.
I put my phone away and looked over at Brandon and Ellie. I wasn't sure what they were talking about, but Ellie was laughing the whole time, occasion
Not wanting to interrupt, I opened WhatsApp to send Lisa a message, but I noticed several unread messages from Jewel. "Madeline, do you know where Chris is?"
“Madeline, has something happened to Chris? I can't reach him. Can you help me find him?"

"Madeline, I'm sorry to bother you at this hour." Jewel's tone was overly polite.
I didn't feel like playing nice. "Just say what you need."
“Did you see the messages I sent you?" Jewel asked.
"Yes, I saw them," I answered honestly.
Jewel went silent on the other end. She probably understood why I didn't respond.
After a brief pause, she asked, “Do you know where Chris went?"
“No, and let me be clear, he's not with me," I said bluntly, exposing her hidden thoughts.
Jewel quickly clarified, "Madeline,
please don't misunderstand. I'm asking you because I'm worried about him, not because I suspect anything between you two. I'm just... concerned."
"Concerned about what?" I pressed.
Was she afraid Chris might leave her?
"Madeline, I'm scared something
happened to Chris," Jewel said an et
her voice trembled with an edge of despair. "Do you know what he did before he left?"
How would I know?
"He arranged everything for me and the baby. It felt like... like he was preparing for the worst," she said.
