Redmption 205
Redmption 205
Girls tend to want to look nice for the boys they like. When I did that, I was certain that I had developed feelings for Brandon.
I washed my hands and walked out. Brandon immediately came over to help me.
I feigned an attitude and ducked. “I’m fine.”
He didn’t force it. He followed me to the dining table. Besides the steak and the vegetables that he said he’d make, there was also a plate of mashed potatoes and a plate of cut–up fruit.
The food looked really appetizing.
“Your sister must be really lucky, Brandon,” I said, offering him my highest praise.
Brandon said nothing. I remembered that his sister had heart disease. Suddenly, an idea flashed into my mind. “Where do you live? I mean, where does your sister live?”
He looked at me, still saying nothing.
I asked again, smiling, “Why are you hiding it even from me? Are you afraid that I’ll hurt her?”
“Palria. It’s a small city south of Amaty. Brandon’s answer was detailed.”
Inodded lightly. Then, I said, “My boss felt bad for me and gave me two days of leave.”
“Oh.” Brandon reacted nonchalantly.
Brandon was an extremely even–tempered person. I had never seen him get emotional.
As expected of someone who was born and raised in this country. He was just different from everyone! else.
When I thought of my time off, I remembered the mysterious boss. I brought it up to Brandon. “Why do you think he’s so good to me? I just joined the workforce. I have nothing to show yet.”
With that in mind, I thought of Chris‘ business getting instantly rejected by the boss.
Truth be told, I would have accepted the offer if the boss hadn’t said anything. After all, Chris‘ company was actually not bad. Working with him would benefit the company. Only a fool would say no to that amount of money.
Unfortunately, my boss had chosen to be a fool. He had sent away the money that had appeared on his doorstep.
“Hmm.” With the way Brandon spoke, one would think that his words cost money. He was stingy with his words.
I was already used to it. I leaned in and said, “Do you think that the boss is being so nice because he secretly wants me?”
Brandon had two spoonfuls of mashed potato before replying, “Maybe.”
“What?” This time, I was the one who played dumb.
Brandon rested his gaze on my face. “You have the looks for it.”
smiled. Was he complimenting me?
“Are you dating me and being good to me because of that?” I asked. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

Brandon clenched his jaw. “Partly. But that’s not the main reason why.”
“What other reasons are there? We’re not that close.” When we were first seeing each other, he said that he wanted to marry me. We honestly didn’t even know each other then.
Brandon looked at me as I waited for his reply, but in the end, he trailed his gaze down to my plate. “Aren’t you finishing that?”
I still had a few bites of food left on my plate, but I wasn’t one to waste. Besides, it tasted really good.
“I am.” I ate a piece of lettuce.
Brandon got up, clearing his dishes. He was obviously not intending on continuing the conversation. He was only holding his share of the plates. I said, “I’m not going to eat the other stuff. You can clear them up. Could you also clean up? I don’t like my kitchen being messy.”
He murmured in response and began washing up in the kitchen. I finished my food and then went into the kitchen to hand him my plate.
When he took it, I said, “You can take the rest of the groceries home. I’m going to travel somewhere.” His movements paused briefly. Without even asking where I was going, he said, “Okay.”
His answer was swift and to the point. It made my chest feel suppressed, like I was unable to breathe.
I felt really uncomfortable. I walked out and said, “Close the door when you leave.”
I went into my bedroom and opened my ticketing app, booking a train ride to somewhere far away.
